Posted April 9, 200718 yr ... does it? Man Utd's remaining Premiership fixtures: Tuesday, 17 April (H) Sheff Utd Saturday, 21 April (H) Middlesbrough Saturday, 28 April (A) Everton Saturday, 5 May (A) Man City Wednesday, 9 May (A) Chelsea Sunday, 13 May (H) West Ham Chelsea's remaining Premiership fixtures: Wednesday, 18 April (A) West Ham Sunday, 22 April (A) Newcastle Saturday, 28 April (H) Bolton Sunday, 6 May (A) Arsenal Wednesday, 9 May (H) Man Utd Sunday, 13 May (H) Everton - We play Arsenal AWAY on the 6th and Manu home just 3 days later. They play City on the 5th and get an extra day before our game. We dont play before them again. I would say our only hope are Everton and City. IF either of them can pull off a defeat or draw .. and we win our games (still have bolton and arsenal) then we have a chance. Doesnt look too bright though.
April 9, 200718 yr I would say our only hope are Everton and City. IF either of them can pull off a defeat or draw .. and we win our games (still have bolton and arsenal) then we have a chance. Yes, but if they could past to 1/2 CL then the time since 28.04 till 09.05 would be bloody hell for them with their defensive problems, they can lose much more than 3 pts.... So, after ManU - Roma clash we should be happy anyway. If Roma should win - very good, if ManU - not bad either.... But I`ve said several times that our schedule is very difficult, especially in April and May.......
April 9, 200718 yr Im not bothered too much the way the fixtures have sorted themselves out. Only thing that bugs me.......AND I HAVE MENTIONED THIS BEFORE.... Is that we have early kick off's against Northern sides......... ... ....BUT THATS SKY RUNNING FOOTBALL FOR YOU!
April 9, 200718 yr We have more difficult games left than ManU so we have to be really good now. I can see ManU drop points against Everton, Man City and also against Boro (though it is a slim chance). Since we doesn't have that many easy games I really hope that ManU drops more points than they have to for us to go past them so that we can afford to drop points too. Though I really hope we don't. If we go through this without dropping any points then it would be really good.
April 9, 200718 yr West Ham is a weak side, Arsenal are in deep trouble, Newcastle isn't too bad, we own Bolton at home, Everton at home should be 3 points...and of course United at home...I like our chances here, I am in no way what so ever expecting the title as I expect the trophy to be raised at Old Trafford but being the underdog and having the "tougher" of the fixtures is only an advantage...NOTHING TO LOSE...its United's to win/lose...
April 9, 200718 yr Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I don't think it's safe to take anything for granted. If (God forbid) we go through another period like the Xmas disaster, we can forget it, if on the other hand, the Mancs go through a similar period ... of course what actually will happen is likely to be somewhere in between - it could go either way. I'm off to get a cushion - sitting on this particular fence hurts like hell. And it don't arf make your eyes water.
April 9, 200718 yr Personally, I think that both sides have a very tough run in. Ours is harder, but I don't think that the Mancs or us will win every single match from here on in. And I think the psycological advantage is definately with us. One thing is for certain - those last three matches (Arsenal, ManU and Everton) are going to be absolute crackers. This is how I see it panning out: Man U - total of 11 points Sheffield United - win - 3 points Middlesbourough - draw - 1 point Everton - draw - 1 point Man City - win - 3 points Chelsea - loss - 0 points West Ham - win - 3 points Chelsea - 16 points West Ham - win - 3 points Newcastle - win - 3 points Bolton - win - 3 points Arsenal - draw - 1 point Man United - win - 3 points Everton - win - 3 points Which would see us win by 2 points.
April 10, 200718 yr This is how I see it panning out:Man U - total of 11 points Sheffield United - win - 3 points Middlesbourough - draw - 1 point Everton - draw - 1 point Man City - win - 3 points Chelsea - loss - 0 points West Ham - win - 3 points Not being funny mate but there's NO point making up lists like this, not even for a bit of a laugh. What ever will be will be IF you know what I mean. If I even had a slight clue how the next 6 fixtures were going......... .......for any team............ I would be straight down the bookies to put my flat (over looking the English Channel),on it! Anything can happen, literally! I'm just proud were fighting in all competitions and have given ourselves a decent chance of catching M*n Utd! (P*ter K*nyon wants them to win the league, and the cup)
April 10, 200718 yr Man Utd will win their next 2 games (both home against Sheff Utd and Boro) whilst we have two tough away fixtures, at the Jimmy Nails and at West Ham who are starting to find some form. If we can get through these matches and still be 3 behind its game on, big time. Big time. Utd then have 2 toughies at the Manc derby and at Goodison. Both games where they could drop points. For me picking up 3 points at Upton park 3 days after the semi is our first hurdle, and yes i know it sounds dead cheesy but we simply have so many massive games at the moment we can only take them a game at a time.
April 10, 200718 yr Can I just point out that we only need to win our final 6 matches to win the title. How? Simple. Win our games by 16 more goals than Manyoo win theirs! This could be achieved in one fell swoop - an 8-0 victory over the Mancs at SB!!!!

April 10, 200718 yr One thing is worth noting, as mentioned by Jose, is that Utd don't play another match before us, so if they keep winning the gap will keep increasing to 6 points then we kick of 5 mins or a day later and hopefully cut it back to 3. (imagine if we still had to play them on Saturday!! - What a run it that'd be!) Its ridiculous that the FA insist that all the last games of the season are played on the same day and kick off at the same time to avoid an advantage to any club, but are willing to give a side an advantage like this IN THE TITLE RUN-IN, for the last 6 games leading up to it!!!! It gives Manu an advantage over us and helps SKY to sell the run-in. MANU are taking every advantage and bit of help they can (also fixture-wise by the FA), and they still have to look over their shoulder. Pity we don't have the chance of pulling level on our own merit rather than hoping they slip up again.
April 12, 200718 yr As it stands now. Man Utd's remaining fixtures: 17 April Sheff Utd home 21 April Boro home 24 April Milan home 28 April Everton away 2 May Milan away 5 May Man City away 9 May Chelsea away We'll also have a congestion on our hands, but things got a bit more interesting now. 4 (!) Away - and not anywhere easy - matches in +- 10 days. If they don't crack somewhere along the way, they will be worthy winners.
