Flicking around on TV yesterday morning and stumbled across a programme about Gavin Peacock on BBC.

Only realised after watching for a while after they showed his early days at Charlton, it was a religious programme and he’s now an ordained minister.

Found this interview with Gavin Peacock in the Independent last year.

They covered him on Football Focus this weekend, I recall him being a good signing for us for a couple of seasons.

One season he scored the winner in both matches where we did the double over Fergie's Utd though we won no silverware despite being runners up in the FA Cup.

Before the fa cup third round draw last week, where Ruud and Paul Ince were doing draw they showed highlight of 94 cup final where Ince was playing for Utd, Ince said something to the effect of the  score wasn't a surprise as they always beat Chelsea 3-0, what a prize prick, that season we were only team to beat them, and it was twice home and away with peacock scoring winner both times, if only his shot in final just before half time at 0-0 went in and didnt hit the bar. Mind you winning in the sunshine in 97 made it more memorable than if we had won it in the pissing rain!!!

Yes in those days against certain teams we could only win as a counter-attacking team rarely coming back from behind against the better teams, fortunately post Roman times have changed.
