Supporters can't help but get a bit blase once you have had a fair bit of success and to travel down from Manchester to Wembley on a Sunday and be faced with travel problems etc, when you can watch it on TV or down the pub and be in bed at a reasonable time for work on Monday - it's no wonder they're struggling to sell allocation. As for the atmosphere it is poor on the whole and has been for years and that's not going to change with all the money in the game meaning many of those attending matches now are not the sort of people who want to have a good old knees up and sing. That was what I loved about Conte in his first season - the utter passion he showed on the touchline - could not help but get the supporters going a bit. Can't talk personally about recent City support yet pre-Roman times I never recall them bringing many to SB.

They certainly never had the away support of their crosstown rivals. Then again most of their fans do actually seem to come from Manchester ;)

If you think of the numbers we took up there in 84 and 89, 8k and 10k their numbers would of been prob 2/3k, both times we were both going for promotion, mind you our away support in those days was second to none.

Never stopped us selling out our full allocation quickly when we had to go all the way to Cardiff. He’ll I even travelled up to Old Trafford for the semi final against Blackburn despite barely being able to see! I think Michael Ballack scored a lovely free kick but I can’t be sure
