League Cup - Final - 2nd Leg

Monday, 5th April 1965 at 7.30pm

A 0-0 draw v Leicester City, saw us win 3-2 on aggregate to win our first ever League Cup.

26,957 saw it.

Just thought this the anniversary today of us winning this national footballing honour was worthy of a thread of it's own.

 

The first leg of the Final had taken place at The Bridge on Monday, 15th March 1965 at 7:30

pm

We won 3-2 in that first leg.	Bobby Tambling 34th min, Terry Venables 70th min with a pen and Eddie McCreadie 81st min our scorers.

Cant seem to find any footage of either game.
