May 26, 2024May 26 Author https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/musovic-joins-first-ever-all-female-cohort-for-uefa-licence-course Chelsea Women goalkeeper Zecira Musovic is one of 17 women to be included in the first-ever all female cohort on a UEFA A Licence coaching course.  In collaboration with the English Football Association and UEFA, 17 current and former players are set to take part in the 12-month programme. The FA has pledged a long-term commitment to providing high-quality development opportunities for Women's Super League and Women’s Championship players to start their coaching careers.   Musovic in the Uefa A Licence classroom  The UEFA A Licence is the highest practical coaching award available and aims to develop technically and tactically proficient coaches capable of nurturing players to perform effectively in the modern game. On being part of the programme which will see her extensively cover a variety of principles, including unique characteristics of the women’s game, Blues goalkeeper Musovic said: 'Taking the UEFA A Licence course is part of me becoming a leader. I want to develop every aspect of myself, become the best version of myself and the best possible leader I can be.' Musovic is joined on the course by: Karen Bardsley, Izzy Christiansen, Cheryl Edwards, Lisa Evans, Sophie Harris, Steph Houghton, Sophie Howard, Kim Little, Sandy MacIver, Aoife Mannion, Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Samantha Tierney, and Lia Walti.    The course, which is fully funded by The PFA, UEFA and The FA, began this week with a two-day residential camp at England's, St. George’s Park. It consisted of practical and classroom-based learning. The opening days of the course also offered Musovic the chance to come together with her fellow students, share ideas and experiences and benefit from peer-to-peer support.

Musovic, who signed for the Blues in December 2020, will continue to be supported by the club’s staff. The goalkeeper will not feature for Chelsea for the rest of the season as she prepares for her new arrival. Everyone at Chelsea would like to congratulate Zecira on her happy news and we are all excited to welcome a new addition to the Blues family.
