‘l gave us a three goal lead at half time with a headed goal from a Charlie Cooke corner. It was my first experience of playing alongside Cooke and what an absolute pleasure that was.Charlie was a wild man in those days, although I gather he hasn’t touched a drop of drink for years. I knew him as a party animal, but a sublime player into the bargain. He was a great character to have around and a huge bonus on the Park. He had tremendous ability on the ball, not to mention defence shredding vision and it is little wonder he became such a hero at Chelsea.’
