Coming from Seattle to London in 2 weeks and trying to get tickets to Chelsea v Man City. Went to pay and dude said it's another $70 each to change names. I can't find anything on the Chelsea ticket FAQ about that. I can't post in the ticket area to ask the group so hoping @Modueke see's this!
October 21, 20231 yr My guess would be this is not ligit. If a season ticket holder wants to sell their seat for a match, a reliable one will use the club's Ticket Exchange (for members). You pay face value and none of this name change nonsense. Also, £150 per ticket?!

October 21, 20231 yr I’m trying to follow this @frnkcastle You bought these on the official site? And someone still wants more money? Not sure if @Boyne or @RMH can help?

I guess if it’s via FB, and not direct official or 3rd party site, they can charge what they want. It sounds like a blag, but you probably won’t have a choice if you want them still.
October 21, 20231 yr Did you actually paid for the tickets? If you have, the person you bought it from should send you an email with the ticket (all home tickets are now electronic and we get them via email). From what I understand there, what would cost you extra £70 would be to change the name in the ticket (all tickets are named), but do not worry about that as no one checks names and we do let and get season tickets and tickets from friends all the time. It’s just to ensure that if someone “misbehaves”, the person whose name is in the ticket gets the rap.

So now feel like a dumb american getting scammed after trying to be careful. Thought I would ask but good to know about the name thing.

Just tell the person that you don’t want the change name, theat you know it is not usually done, and to send the tickets to you and see what they reply. Good luck! Next time, try the official ticket exchange.
October 21, 20231 yr Author Thanks for the info. London was a last min idea from the wife and visiting Chelsea for a game is a dream.
