hiya chelsea supporters,

i will be in london for the championsleague game chelsea v schalke 04 and was wondering which would be the best tube ticket to get for the day as i am flying back home after the game.i have got a ticket from stanstead airport to baker street in london and now need to know which tube ticket i need from baker street to fullham broadway station.is there a day return or all day pass i can buy? and if so how much would that be and in which zone is it? is it zone 1-6 (for the tube ticket) or which one would i need?

thanks, regards schalke supporter

Baker Street is in Zone 1 and Fulham Broadway (where you want to be going) is in ZOne 2. Don't worry too much about this as you can get your ticket from a machine or from a ticket booth and if you are unsure about the whole Zone thing you can actually just select Fulham broadway as your destination.

If you only plan to use the underground to go to the game and back (i.e. just two journeys) then you should just get a return ticket, if you plan on using it a fwe times in the day then it will be cheaper to get a day pass.

Don't know the prices off the top of my head (maybe somone else can help) but you will find it ridiculously expensive that I can assure you.

The tube is set up so that people who travel on it a lot can buy something cvalled an Oyster card and get tickets cheaper however if you are a tourist and just buying a one off ticket then the prices are ridiculous in my opinion.

Aren't you travelling from Stansted to Liverpool Street?

On the tube you can choose to buy two singles which cost ?4 each or a Day Travel Card (think that'll be cheaper)

If you are arriving at Liverpool Street the tube station is directly opposite the platform exit. They have manned ticket booths.

You need to take a Circle line train, probably best to go Eastwards, and change to a District line at any of the stations between Tower Hill and Gloucester Road the District Line train will arrive at the same platform. Make sure you take a District Line to Wimbledon.

Enjoy yourself!

I think the best is to buy a Zone 1-2 Day Travel Card which is now at ?6.60 It is slightly more expensive than a return ticket but only slightly (I think its ?5.70). But the Day Card is worth it if you want to travel around do some sightseeing or in case you come out on the wrong station because a single/return ticket wouldn't let you back in.
