  1. This is sad, I was somehow convinced he is staying for another season.
  2. You are forgetting France, who are right up there as well!
  3. Seems an article out of nothing to me... As far as club is concerned it is still debt-free, the only difference is shares do not belong to Abramovich directly (quite naturally) but another company (probably in turn owned but yet another company).
  4. which channel is showing the game? website says only Chelsea TV?
  5. voted for Joe, think Malouda is better of sticking to the left-side (or the bench after the last game ;), while Deco has not impressed me at all this season. I hope Joe is still got it in him somewhere to provide the creativity we are lacking at the tip of that diamond, although I'm not too confident about it.
  6. Thanks mate, really helpful. I did try and look on Ebay but guess you are way better than me :)
  7. Hey guys, I am trying to locate a Match Day Programme from a Newcastle - Chelsea game in 2005/2006. It was the last game of the season and we already sealed the title and lost this one 1-0. If any of you guys happen to have the programme from that match and are willing to part with it for a sum of money please let me know. Probably Newcastle forums are a better bet at given that its their home game, but thought I'd try here first. Thanks a lot! Moderators, sorry if posts like this not allowed please delete this topic. Cheers!
  8. Anyone got any links to highlights or the goals? Won't see the MOTD tonight unfortunately...
  9. was between Cole, Drogba and Bosingwa - all were great today. I voted for Cole in the end.

Unfortunately parking is a nightmare around the Bridge, mainly because most street parking spaces require a Resident Permit. I normally park (if google maps serves me right) on Seagrave Road (its off Lillie Road - if you are driving west its first left after the west brompton tube station), the best way to find it - its right opposite Earl's Court 2 building (cant miss it if you are driving on Lillie road). As you turn into Seagrave Road, drive all the way till the end and there is a high school which allows you to park there for the game for £10 flat fee. Its right behind the ground but there is no direct way through so you have to go around (a good 15min walk) - just ask the parking attendants for directions - and also follow the crowd ;) Another problem is - the car park closes 40 minutes after the end of the game, so leaves you little time for any after game activities. Hopefully, other guys may give you better tips...
  11. voted for 3-0. a couple of fantastic results for Burnley, but hoping we be the ones to put them back to earth.
  12. In this case I believe your friend is right. If your savings/earnings are in pounds and you pay for rent/food/shopping in Euro's, you cost of living has gone up given the fact that your are getting less goods and services for the same amount of money. If you are of course earning Euro's and spending Euro's, the pounds value is irrelevant to you.
  13. how did The Shed End do over the course of the season? Any stats on how many scores were actually guessed correctly? Would be fun to see.
  14. I think the problem lies with Roman losing loads over the past few months. Companies he has stakes in fell as much as 90% in their value and if he used those stakes to borrow any additional cash he would be in even more trouble. (which media reports he has). So his reported wealth (Russian media being the unreliable source) has fallen from £12-15bn to a "mere" £2-3bn. And the market woes aren't over yet. Hence he is tightening the screws on big spending and Kenyon, Scolari and however else were probably told "it's enough". And given that we are not the only club who would suffer from the credit crunch the Chelsea staff would be happy to oblige so long as they keep their very well paid jobs.
  15. 150 miles is clearly not far enough! -_-
  16. Voted for Kalou. He is really stepping up this season!
  17. we don't need 5 players right now, but once a few guys leave we will need to rebuild the depth of the squad. We probably will need a new striker as sheva and pizza are likely to leave. I would also like us to sign a new pacy winger (SWP, Malouda aren't performing and sadly nor is Joey in the last few games). And further re-shuffeling will be needed if the likes of Drogba/Lampard/Bridge decide to go. We don't want to be caught out like we have been before when injuries take its toll. Spending £80m on one player is not an option for me - there is absolutely no guarantee they will become the "match-winners" for us.
  18. wouldn't want to see us spend that sort of money on any ONE player (messi or anyone else for that matter). We can buy 5/6 world class players with £80m and re-build the whole squad (as we are bound to get a few guys leaving Sheva/SWP/Pizza etc)
  19. Woke up this morning and thought, did it really happen?? What a great night last night!!! Went to the game and thought atmosphere was amazing, definately best I have seen! The "famous" Liverpool fans hardly sang a word (apart from 5min of noise after the goal) and got some nice "your support is f**king s**t chants directed at them, which brought a smile to my face. The emotions ran very high and I was afraid it might have gone to penalties, as Liverpool has good record at penalties. But a brilliant performance from the boys and great to see Frank score (and Didi of course to shut fat Rafa up) Good luck in Moscow everyone!!!
  20. Went for Essien, not because he scored, but because he was trying hard, fighting for the ball and generally being everywhere on the pitch (the opposite of a lot of others who were nowhere)
  21. Voted for 2-1, not sure if Cudicini is back or not, so have a feeling we will concede one on Monday Generally, it does feel like the outcome of this vote will be 2-0 for most of the games we play (and we will probably end up winning them 1-0

Hi guys, my wife (who is also a fellow Chelsea Fan ) is studying to become a film maker. She has recently done a couple of short films as exercises and is really keen to show it to an audience. If any of have spare time please check them out, (one is 3min, the other one is 5min long) and leave any comments :) P.S. I understand this might be against Forum rules to leave a personal advertisement like that, so if the moderators are against it, feel free to delete this thread, but we will really appreciate it if you don't! P.P.S When she is rich and famous we'll get her to make a movie about Chelsea FC and we can all star in it Here are the links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8c_pKwT ...
