evissy
...we will try to find the next one. Grant talks about future and flair. Avram Grant has outlined his intention to add more flair to the Chelsea squad next season and insists he does not fear for his job. When the Israeli replaced Jose Mourinho as manager last September, it was widely expected Grant would introduce a more adventurous style to Chelsea's game. That has yet to be witnessed on a consistent basis, but the Blues boss is determined to make his team more appealing to the eye. "We already have a very, very good team at Chelsea," Grant told the Daily Mail. "One that has a chance to win the championship and the Champions League this season. "But we have to plan for the future as well and I want to add more flair to the team. "I know Roman Abramovich will give us his full support if the right player becomes available. But if it is not possible to bring in a Messi or a Kaka we will try to find the next one." Progressing Though Grant's appointment as Mourinho's replacement has been continually questioned, he remains convinced he is the right man for the job. He added: "I took over in a very difficult situation and I think people at the club understand that. "I think they can see the team progressing and I'm not sure there is another manager who could have done a better job than me. "I'm building for the future and I have no reason to think I will not be in charge next season. "I don't need to speak to Roman about it. When I took the job he said: 'We are no longer friends because you are now my manager'. I will just continue to do my job." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,116...361374,00.html#
blizeH
Nicely said by the big man, and I for one would love to see an incredible flair player (I know Joe Cole has a lot of flair and is awesome, but still not comparable to Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka etc) at Chelsea. Scott
The hard part is getting the next Messi or Kaka to come to an English club and not a Spanish or Italian one.
Basarabeanul
The hard part is getting the next Messi or Kaka to come to an English club and not a Spanish or Italian one. They are not going to leave anyway. I heard at the news that Ronaldinho talked to a lawyer or to an agent and he found a way to leave Barcelona with not too much financial damage from his further team. And it could be Real, the agent said. Well, I don't believe that this brazilian guy is as stupid as Figo was. I bet he doesn't want to see pig heads being throwed at him at Camp Nou. So the move to Chelsea might be realistic. I don't care what some others will say, and said already, but I believe he is the most gifted player nowadays, and he can do wonderful stuff in england. mad_mac
So this means that Grant will be in charge next season, and he's getting free reign of team selections? The horror, the horror

I'm suprised those who aren't convinced by Grant (which appears to be most), haven't jumped on this comment. Apart from the fact I am glad we won against Boro because a wins a win, i'm glad we won because I can mention this comment without being one of those people who make these comments when we lose but sit stoicly silent when we win.
