Posted May 4, 200817 yr Did the man taken off against us in the Champions league semi final due to a 'hamstring' problem just three days ago play a full 90 minutes and score the winning goal today at Anfield. In Rafa we definitely do trust.
May 4, 200817 yr haha yeah he certainly got a heap of backlash for taking off torres that day lol but i still think it wasnt the terrible mistake seeing as babel scored and torres couldnt run anymore..
May 4, 200817 yr Spain are in the Euro's aren't they? Maybe greasy face didn't want to risk himself for that.
May 5, 200817 yr Was just talking about this with my Liverpool supporting friend today. Come on, what do you expect him to say? "I'm a clod and I f**ked it up"?
May 5, 200817 yr It was a strange decision without knowing more - I don't recall when I watched the match (admittedly on TV) seeing Torres picking up the strian, nor signalling to be replaced, nor or even limping off when replaced. Perhaps he did one or all of those things. Perhaps someone at the game saw something not shown on TV. Usually with even a slight hammy strain you're not right to properly extend the muscle for at least 7 days. Maybe he was injured though (albeit it must have been very slight) and maybe someone gave him lots of intense physio in the next couple of days. Gerrard or Benitez I wonder...
May 5, 200817 yr I was at the game and didn't see him pick up an injury or even go off. The first I knew about it was when the stadium announcer announced it. I was baffled.
