Curbishley Resigns

Featured Replies

Alan Curbishley has resigned as manager of West Ham United.

Curbishley been criticised by the club's fans this season, and earlier this week he was humiliated by the club's hierarchy, who sold George McCartney against his wishes, and after he'd publicly stated no-one else would be leaving.

It also emerged that he has also been under-fire in the dressing room, with skipper Lucas Neill involved in a heated argument with Curbishley after the team's 4-1 win against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

More to follow...

Wonder who bookies are paying out on as first departure of the season?

Keegan looked like he was first, but all is uncertain and looks like Curbs might have snuck in at the last minute.

Haha! Pointless, all Curbs' pre-season tactics/thoughts/sessions all gone out the window.

Has apparently threatened to reveal the details behind the 'Tevez saga' - cue massive pay-off as hush money!?!

I've heard Sam Allardyce's name thrown about for the job already, not sure whether Bilic would leave Croatia at the moment though

I haven't watched sky sports this morning. So whos looking like favourite to take over?

Rumour doing the rounds:

Fans of both Wigan Athletic and Sheffield United will be celebrating together if sources in Sheffield are correct with regards to the verdict of the FA Tribunal that was set up to rule on the infamous Carlos Tevez affair two season's ago.

Nobody can ever forget the pressures that were apparent when Latics visited Bramall Lane for the final game of season 2006/07. The losers would be relegated whilst the Hammers were resorting to playing two alleged illegal players, in particular Carlos Tevez, the result of which saved them from the Premier League trapdoor.

The powers that be at Bramall Lane were backed 100% by Latics chairman Dave Whelan at the time and nothing has changed. The verdict of the tribunal is set to be revealed and it looks as though the Hammers (should Sheffield sources be correct) will be forced to pay around thirty eight million pounds in compensation to the Blades.

The wholesale selling of players at the Boleyn Ground, over the head of the club manager, seems to confirm this. Curbishley's recent resignation from the Hammers managerial hot seat may be the least of the Hammers worries should this little snippet of information be true.

Hopefully, it is. West Ham United Football Club should not be allowed to get away with what happened in season 2006/07 should they be found guilty.
