Posted November 20, 200816 yr About to take the plunge and get a PS3. There are a host of great games out at the moment, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a great game to get. I like the 1st person shooters, but I also like games with story and a few puzzles in there too.... Like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc Thanks Scott
November 20, 200816 yr I'm not really into those type of games, but judging by what I've seen you might want to check out Mercenaries 2: I saw my mate play it the other week when I dropped by his place before we went to the pub and it seemed like a good game. I have no desire to play it myself, mind you, but few of my mates seem to think it's a great game.
November 20, 200816 yr If like me you love the series then get the latest Metal Gear Solid, very long game, not as stealth based as the last ones but its still good and has a great story though confusing at times and IMO a little bit rushed towards the end.

November 21, 200816 yr FIFA 09 obviously. But Star Wars: Force Unleashed is a good one, not very strategical and pretty short, but I found it was a brilliantly made game. But Bioshock is absolutely brilliant. Heard it was one of the highest rated games ever. Seriously amazing game.

So far the game is very atmospheric, but I do criticise it in one way: The game only lets you go in one direction, in as much as the path through any town or forest or spacecraft is very one dimensional. In Res Evil you get maps, and multiple floors etc. This one, so far, just a pretty straight forward path that can deviate slightly, and finding exits can be tricky. But overall a decent game. I have heard Bioshock is great, so that might be the next purchase. Maks, your recommendation of Mercennaries could be a good one too! Scott
