MOTM vs Bolton (CC)
My impression was that Joe Cole was running the show, but I won't be voting because of the quality of the stream.

Chelsea vs Bolton (CC) 28/10/09 1945 KO
Missed the first goal and watched most of the game on a stream that for much of the first half especially resembled impressionism in motion. Picture quality was much better for the second half, but the stream froze occasionally. Even under those conditions it was apparent that we were all over them, looking nearly as comfortable as we did against Blackburn. Bolton may not have been quite as woeful as Blackburn but it was very much a case of carrying on where we left off. In fact with a little more composure/better finishing from Sturridge and a miss by think it was Kalou, in particular, we might well have won by 5 or 6. Really was a shame Sturridge was taken off but can't have done Ross Turnbull any harm to keep a clean sheet, even though he was actually called on to do very little.

Chelsea vs Bolton (CC) 28/10/09 1945 KO
Shame Sturridge had to go off. Ok he didn't score, but he did get into good positions but was lacking in composure. He can expect to have a limited amount of first team opportunities, so leaving him on for the entire game would have done wonders for his confidence.

Bolton (Carling Cup)
Working fine, good quality but with Demo printed across the screen in dirty great letters. Edit: seems I spoke too soon. 5 minutes gone and it's frozen solid.

phil brown leaves hull
I haven't seen anything specific about this yet, although Dean Windass says it's time Phil Brown left Hull. From Sky: However, if the following, also from Sky, is anything to go, it may already be too late for any potential new manager to undo the damage:

Things you would never have seen or heard at football 20 or 30 years ago
Like police dogs, they're a special breed. One of them once tried to eat me, I kid you not. This was after a match at West Ham queuing up outside Upton Park station, some four-footed hellbeast started chewing my shoulder. To be honest I don't know if it was me or my sheepskin it was trying to digest, either way it sh*t the life out of me!

Scousers
So you think there'd have have been protests and calls for the heads of the owners if they'd gone into Sunday's match on the back of a 4 or 5 game winning streak? Yeah right.

what no Star?
I pretty much agree with all of that. As I said at half-time, if we hadn't scored it would have looked like it could turn out to be one of those games, the kind where we are totally dominant, have all the possession, plenty of chances, but none of them in the back of the net. Truth is, Blackburn were truly absolutely bloody woeful. And that needs to be born in mind to put Saturday's performance, good as it was, into perspective. Similarly with Atletico. Even though we came out 4-0 winners, for much of the first half, they were well in the game. At one stage I was reminded of the game at Roma, who had also been going through an awful patch, underachieving, confidence at rock-bottom, rumours of unrest in the dressing room and at boardroom level. And we managed to f**k it up big time. There's a long long way to go yet.

Scousers
Don't forget the mobile phone death threats aimed at a certain admin from CFCnet. But of course. Everyone (for everyone read every second-rate idiot journalist/pundit) knows that Chelsea have since time immemorial been The Enemy Of Football, that a two-horse race between e.g. the Arse and Man U was the epitome of excitement, but throw Chelsea into the mix and it's "boring that the same teams compete every year". Same old same old, Saint Stevie dives for fun and it's ignored, Drogba exaggerates and he's part of ... the Chelsea disease, everything that's wrong with the game. A draw would have suited me perfectly yesterday. No way in this world could I celebrate those c**ts winning - ever. Not if it means keeping us on top of the table, not even if, at the end of the season, it'll mean us winning a trophy. Even if they were to lose against the y*ds, I'd be glad the y*ds lost but that would be it. And as expected, not a word about Giggs - who himself is fast approaching the level of Sky-era sainthood - Rooney, or anyone else haranguing the ref. With hypocrisy on the scale of the media and the football authorities in general, the only thing left to say is: f**k 'em all.

Ex-Chelsea Players You Don't Like
What do you expect? I'm not going to get into one, but put those two posts together and it's all too apparent that you're taking the piss.

Ex-Chelsea Players You Don't Like
I've got a simpler one for you. Add the post quoted above to this post and what you get is some piss-taking twat trying to be clever but failing miserably.

Are you on drugs or does it come naturally?

Ex-Chelsea Players You Don't Like
I get the feeling people are confusing hate with "extremely frustrated" or "hugely disappointed" by. It's quite simple, the likes of Dean Saunders and Hunt the c**t (yes I know they're not ex-Chelsea but can you name anyone more hateworthy?) obviously fit the bill, but someone like Sutton was just a disappointment. He wasn't the first and won't be the last. And as has been previously stated, it wasn't his fault if he didn't fit the formation we chose to employ him in.

It's not what it used to be. Nostalgia, that is.

Not the point though is it? This isn't about our recent success. It's not an "I was there when we were crap" rant. It's to do with the whole Sky era. Back then, the vast majority of the crowd would have been genuinely passionate, would have appreciated what they were watching, would follow the team through thick and thin, and weren't glory hunting, JCL, corporate clients, tourists or other undesirables that all too commonly form a sizeable proportion of Premier League crowds up and down the country. It's all very well winning trophies, playing good football, setting records and all the rest of it. But when you're told to sit down or else ... asked to keep the noise down for whatever reason .. surrounded by people who'd be equally at home at the theatre or the ballet - f**k that.

Chelsea vs Blackburn (24/10/09) 1730 KO
Just another cut & paste error. I think I meant to write something like Drogba scored and set up another couple, the penalty of course, and the own goal where it was his presence that forced the error from their defender.

No idea. This was on a Sopcast stream. Of course it's all different over there ... on the other side of the Severn Bridge!

Things you would never have seen or heard at football 20 or 30 years ago
geezer's quite right. You don't see me at football any more. And from what I hear there are all too many reasons why I might not be too eager to be a regular match-goer even if I still lived in or around London and wasn't skint most of the time. The obvious one: All Seater Stadiums: Last match I went to was the Charity Shield at the old Wembley, and those poxy bloody seats crippled me. Tourists: I absolutely detest the idea of football grounds being on the same tourist agenda as West End theatres. Silence: People being asked to keep the noise down. And in a similar vein, people being told to sit down or risk being thrown out. Packed lunches: If Bovril and a pie/hot dog/burger isn't good enough for you - f**k off back to the ballet. JCL's leaving early in their droves to avoid the rush: Whether they be tourists, corporate customers, glory hunters or whatever, those ignorant waste of space arseholes don't rightly belong anywhere near a football ground.
