Chelsea vs QPR (League Cup) 23/09/09 (1945 KO)
Without having seen a minute of the game, it's nice for Joe Cole to get a full match under his belt after so long out, and to see Yuri Zhirkov on for an hour, well on his way to recovery. Other pluses include Borini making his full debut - shame he couldn't get on the scoresheet, and Sam Hutchinson who as far as I could tell did ok for the time he was on the pitch. Not forgetting Paulo Ferreira, also playing his first game for some while, following yet another injury. With this kind of mixture of youngsters and players returning from injury it was never going to be a walkover. Although they had a few half chances, the impression I got was that we could have comfortably stepped up a gear or two at any time. Looks like the rest of tonight's ties went as expected, except perhaps Man City v Fulham, which is still going on, current score 1-1.

Try this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlive/bbc_london/ They've just gone from a preview of our game to the Fulham game. No idea yet whether they'll be broadcasting a live game, and if so which live game, or whether they'll be going from game to game.

I'm sure it was, but way back when there was just the one verse:

Your favourite ever kit
I'd even forgotten he was known as Kojak. You're right though, I'm sure he could handle himself but I never saw him hit anyone either. I remember one time up at Anfield during the away ban teaming up with him and a few of his mates on the way back to Lime Street. Not looking for a row or anything, but sticking together for safety. They knew we were Chelsea but none of the f**kers bothered us.

I never knew his surname, but yep Chelsea Spartans was the team he managed and I played for. Back then we only really played friendlies, mostly over Mitcham, but also Morden, Merton and outside the Scrubs. Most of the team were local Fulham boys, including Sid and his cousin Alan - everyone knew Alan, he was a bit simple but as strong as an ox. Alan never played but always went along with the team. We used to go training at Chelsea School and Eel Brook Common when it was light enough. Considering all that, it's not saying much but I heard they went on to bigger things after I left.

Yeah I know. Well I do and I don't if you know what I mean. I started going in 70-71 and from 71-72 onwards (which is when I left school) went to almost every game home and away. Like I said, my memory plays tricks. The fact of the two stars being added, one for each cup has been rattling around at the back of what's left of my mind for so long it emerged transformed as one star then two stars in successive seasons - I even used to wear one of those shirts with the two stars when I played for a Chelsea supporters team over Mitcham common and so on. Did I say I played? Well kind of. To be honest it has to be said I was bloody awful. It didn't exactly help that we played Sunday mornings. I remember one game against Worlds End United. I forget exactly but not enough of us turned up that day to even form a full side. I lasted maybe 20 minutes before crawling off the pitch, wrecked, and we lost 9-0. OR maybe it was 11-0. The manager refused to play me after that for turning up pissed. So I hit him, I called him out in the middle of the Shed and punched his face. Funniest thing is, he was this huge muscular bald black bloke called John. Remember him? I thought he'd batter me but he just turned and disappeared back into the Shed. Later he told me he understood why I'd hit him and that was the end of it. I heard later again that he'd died, but I forget the cause. But I digress.

Point taken. However, it's the actual kit worn for the replay you're talking about. This is the one sold by Toffs as the 1970-1971 season kit : Now that's weird. I could have sworn the 1970-1971 kit had the single star. I've got that shirt and it's the same as the one in the image, with the FA Cup but no star. Ah well, looks like my memory is playing me tricks again! One thing I am sure about is that the 1970-1971 kit would have had the usual white numbers and stripes.

Hmm I don't know if I'd put it quite like that! I merely er ... do the espionage bit, take a tentative sneaky look around the corner (or around the bend, if you will), report back and comment accordingly. Just call me Agent Lofty.

Scousers
Why? Because it's there. Because they are the enemy. Burying your head in the sand and ignoring this crap won't make it go away. They are the biggest bunch of hypocrites on the footballing planet, bar none. And they hate us with a passion. Perhaps we should take it as a complement that they now discuss whether or not they hate us or Man U the most. Every now again someone will pop up and saw that Scousers are no different, no better and no worse, than any other fans. Which is so much patent bollox. Scousers consider themselves "special", aided and abetted no end by an endless stream of sycophantic muppets in the media. And so the world needs reminding from time to time, how especially obnoxious Scousers actually are. Having said all that, I would never have dreamed of visiting any Scouse forum if it wasn't for RedRobScumsucker.

I notice with Scousers that one of their favourite words to describe the attitude of other fans towards them is "bile". And then you get something like this: Seriously, the first time I read that I felt the urge (never to be acted on of course, because we don't do things like that) to batter 50 shades of sh*t out of the horrible Scouse c**t. It just goes on: However, look past all the bollox and there's this from the same Scouse twat: For "coffin of real football" read Liverscum's chances of winning the Premiership in the foreseeable future. f**k 'em all - especially YOU, you ignorant, obnoxious, loud-mouthed, delusional, horrible Scouse bar steward c**ts.

Good one! The question is now, will I have the willpower to wait till Xmas? Another good one, including the original of this shirt, which I've still got somewhere but is tattered and stained and if it was anything but a Chelsea shirt - but even more so because it's a link with the days when I was a regular matchgoer - would have been in the bin years ago:

The only difference between the 1968-1970 kit and the 1970-1971 kit was the addition of a star for the FA Cup, and then the 1971-1973 shirt had a second star for the Cup Winners Cup. What's perhaps even more significant is that of these three variations, the 1970-1971 FA Cup Winners kit is the only one currently stocked by Toffs.

Nice site
This page lists the available Chelsea retro kits: Chelsea kits Nice to see that the 1970-1971 shirt is stocked by Toffs - good old Toffs, a few years ago they gave me one of those very shirts as a reward for adding a link on a Chelsea site I used to run. Toffs also sell the very first (1905 - 1909) ever Chelsea shirt: I think I'll get myself one of those for Christmas!

From the stamfordthelion Twitter page: So it looks like we'll just have to wait.

Chelsea vs Spurs (Premiership - Home 20/09/09 1600 KO)
Stupidest post of the week, maybe even the year award. Goes to a Man City fan who yesterday posted a topic at the Blue Moon forum: he says. without even having seen the game. He then goes on to add: It doesn't matter that there were two lengthy stoppages for injury, it doesn't matter that we already had the game well wrapped up, this is the exactly the kind of fabricated sh*te that adds to the "bloody Chelsea getting away with murder/they're players are a disgrace" mythology. f**k 'em all.

Difficult to choose from Drogba, Essien, Ashley Cole, and Bosingwa, but finally decided on Drogba who was unstoppable today.

Chelsea vs Spurs (Premiership - Home 20/09/09 1600 KO)
No chance! For your possible penalty - which actually looked like a dive to me - I give you a stone wall handball (from Frank's free-kick), a foul on Ballack in the area, Bassong wrestling Drobga (I think) to the ground, not even carded, several other blatant Yellow Card offences, a couple of very dodgy offside decisions early in the first half. Any more for any more?

Chelsea vs Spurs (Premiership - Home 20/09/09 1600 KO)
Very important win. The scum from N17 are arguably the best team we've faced in the Premiership so far this season, and after a few early scares - mostly of our own making, the f**kers were well and truly put in their place. Hopefully Drogba will be ok, we'll have to wait and see.

Chelsea vs Spurs (Premiership - Home 20/09/09 1600 KO)
And now that same f**king commentator: "T*tt*nh*m can rightly feel aggreived because all the big decisions have gone against them". Like f**k. Did you ever see a more blatant deliberate handball than the one from Frank Lampard's free kick. If (and I don't think it was) the Carvolho incident was debatable, then it was no more so than what looked to be a foul on Ballack in the first half. Not to mention the numerous occasions T*tt*nh*m players could and should have been booked/
