  1. That may not happen. De Gea now has to think about his playing career and there's word going out that he's at least playing lip service to the idea of renewing his contract now. United are actually in a very strong position now. De Gea knows he needs to play for the Euros and we have the power to prevent that happening. He may end up signing a new deal with a release clause that would guarantee us a proper fee for him, and if Madrid really want him they'll have to pay it. If anyone comes off looking like mugs in this it's Madrid. they should have just stumped up the cash instead of leaving it till the last minute.
  2. You don't get it and I suppose it's because you've been fortunate in that Madrid haven't tried to take any of your players yet. But imagine how you'd feel if they tried to take Hazard for £15M. You'd be pretty pissed off, wouldn't you? That's how we feel, it's how we've felt since they got Ronaldo; the money isn't important but Madrid thinking they can waltz in and just take De Gea off us like it's nothing, is. It's a part of the bigger picture, one in which Woodward wants to reverse what's been happening so far i.e. all the world class players leaving the PL and going to La Liga (Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez). Screwing them over with the De Gea deal just showed them a massive amount of intent, and they'll think twice before trying to take one of our players off us again. There's a reason they say Real always get their man, it's because they walk all over everyone. I say it's about time someone told them to do one ... and we just did.
  3. Just heard that we purposely sent the papers over late and in the wrong format to stop the De Gea deal. If it's true then that's hilarious. Yeah, De Gea is probably pissed and probably won't play for us again, but then he never was anyway as it was clear he had his heart set elsewhere and we don't need the money either. The most important thing was sending Madrid a big F U and that they can't walk all over us anymore.
  4. Not holding my breath just yet but I think we might be able to hold on to De Gea for another season.
  5. Can't say I understand the logic in this. It'd be like if we sold De Gea to Liverpool for £15M. We all know he's off which is really unfortunate for us, but at least he's going abroad and not to one our of PL rivals. It's either genius or major hubris on the part of the club.
  6. Said before the game that I thought it'd be a hard game so I wasn't surprised to see us lose, especially with those 4 crucial injuries to key players and at the Bridge too. Could have been totally different if Rooney puts that chance away early on. If and buts though.... Don't think the result changes your title chances though since I thought you were nailed on even before the game. Next season is going to be fun, expect it'll be us, Arsenal and you guys fighting for it. We can all laugh at City getting screwed by FFP.
  7. Despite how confident a lot of United fans are, I can't help but remember my history. How often do we beat Chelsea at the Bridge? Not bloody often. How many times have we beaten a Mourinho led Chelsea at the Bridge? Never.... I'd take a draw right now.
  8. Thought we did well to create the amount of chances we did but our finishing was very poor. Correct decision for our disallowed goal. Stambouli was lucky not to be sent off early in the game. Rooney was similarly lucky getting away with his rugby tackle on Kane. Should have been a penalty, whether they score with the form De Gea is in though I don't know. Overall 0-0 is a fair result but not the one we wanted.
  9. I'll say this as clearly as I can. I don't think it's guaranteed that United will win the league. Read that again, it's not a certainty, my thoughts aren't "We're gonna win the league etc." I think it's possible that we could challenge for the league. I.e. don't write us off. Possible, could happen, might happen, there's a chance etc. So now that's understood, do you think it's impossible for us to challenge for the title?
  10. Don't put words in my mouth, I said nothing of winning the league as though it is a certainty. I said don't write us off i.e we have a chance of winning it and it would be foolish to think we don't. It's only December for crying out loud and you're arrogant if you think you've already won the league. A lot can happen in a week of football never mind what can happen in 22 games. You've a good team and a very good manager but if you do as well in the CL as you think you will, then that is going to put more pressure on you compared to us. We could end up spending another £150M in January as well. All I'm saying is a lot can happen.
  11. Write us off at your own peril.......
  12. The only good thing about last season other than Moyes being sacked is that a lot of the glory hunters left.
  13. Sorry but you don't win 6 games in a row against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton through luck alone. The team we put out against MK-Dons wasn't even our C team let alone our B team. It was riddled with youngsters and players who have otherwise been sold or loaned out. In the last ten games both Chelsea and United have won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1. In those same games United have scored 19 and conceded 7 while Chelsea have scored 16 and conceded 5.
  14. It's not like you guys are playing much better.......
  15. You don't have me exclusively! LOL I watch the footie whilst discussing the match in multiple places.
