I shared your sentiments a page back or so, and am as concerned about Cech's injury is a bad one for a keeper. The fact he had surgery relays the seriousness and the future risk for re-injury. Goalies and athletic types of keepers like cech will undoubtably be hitting the ground on their shoulder and the last thing you want is doubt in the keepers eyes that he will be afraid to go in the direction it might hurt to land on...So the bigger question is would we be in for a keeper this summer if we didnt have court on the books? Schwar certainly wouldn't be good enough to be our #1 between the sticks?! Long story short there should be no doubt to have court back full time 14/15

I think we should be in for Mario. As you've mentioned he's on the cusp of being a world best or falling off completely. He is the finesse plsyer to counter Lukaku with his brawn and force. Mario can clearly create amazing goals out of nothing and JM most certainly could push him to greatness. Not to mention how racist Seria a (or Italy at large for that matter) has been to him I think he would really enjoy London and being back in the epl in general. Also wouldnt mind seeing his celebrations against city when he scores!

At the risk of sounding daft, depending on cech's recovery we might be wise to put him up for transfer. This might be the last chance to get a decent return on fee. Court is ready to start and finish his career in chelsea blue. Blackman is a good enough third keeper and possibly we could secure the backup position with somebody in their late 20's to provide insurence for court. Cech does not and should not be sitting on the bench and would be happy for him to play in a cl squad somewhere outside of England. Be a shame if we did a pepe reine and loan him out disrespectfully as pool did...

Lets pretend for a minute that Ba and Torres leave, and Lukaku is our only real striker on the books...Mandy wouldn't cut it. We don't provide enough crosses into the area for him to utilize his skill set (hard worker, good header of the ball, tap-ins, etc) and I worry he'd be no better off than a Ba on our team. Lukaku and who? Costa is a worry for so many reason previously mentioned, doesn't really add up to be in for him this summer IMO. We can certainly be more creative in hopes for summer signings no? Dream for Benz or Cavani, let us not be contented with polished shinned sh*t.

What kills me about this debate over Costa boils down to the question if we need a player of his type/abilities. Arguably we have his sort of style in Lukaku, which leads me to wonder why we would be in for costa at all? We should pair Lukaku with a more finesse kind of player and leave Costa to ruin the chances of barca and real to meet up with us in cl competition. Just think we could spend the money elsewhere... Thoughts?

Please no Lukaku in a trade deal to get costa. Obviously Torres should be apart of that deal... Also, does anyone know if costa has any pace or speed over a longer distance? Can't tell if he's fast or the defenders in Spain are slow

If we must go for shaw we could certainly offer a player on our roster/squad to help compensate for a lower cash payment...also add in bonuses do southhampton if shaw wins titles for us. 30 is a very hight price for a lb who is 18 IMHO we should be in for Rodriguez. He has the defensive abilities and can run down the line and provide real quality into the box either closer to the endline or early crosses into he area from deeper positions. If you take a minute and look him up on utube would can see the potential for him to start and or provide the final ball in our counter attack

So if people on here are looking for a bully type, couldn't that be apart of lukakus game? Why should we even be looking at costa when we have a big physical type player in the squad for next season? Doesn't make sense to me...cavani is the taller more athletic hard worker that I think people hope costa is. Lukaku/Cavani would be a dream pair. Otherwise I'd like to see the interest level of the following: Benzema/Lukaku (Heard a rumor recently that zindane is leaving real, which as some on here have commented that was the staying factor for Benz wanting to play under his coaching. Maybe if saurez goes to real we could go in for Benz then?!) Balotelli/Lukaku (Mario has his shananagins however they seem to take place off the pitch which result in "bad press" and personal fines. If he is available i would be in for him before costa) Bony/Lukaku (Double beast mode)

Fair enough. Just think he's ending up being the scapegoat- IMO it might be cole, terry, or JM could put it on his shoulders. In reality we've been a bit unlucky...cech out, cup-tied players,etc. Next season no doubt the coaches job will be made easier. Everyone we have in now and those returning from loans along with the summer acquisitions will be available for all comps and we will essentially end up with two full starting 11's No excuse though we should win everything 14/15!

I agree but it seems no one wants to address the terry being 100% and his resulting decisions in the team selection.

If there is any sense at the very top of the club they will make sure Courtios and Lukaku come back and play for the rest of their days in Chelsea Blue

I think JM could do a good job at molding Mario Balotelli into that great player. I wish we would go for him and Benz if either of them had an interest in playing elsewhere. Not to beat a dead horse but I really don't think costa is a player that will end up playing in chelsea blue
