Yup, QPR's recent manager change could make this difficult for us. Really hope the players are well up for this one. Who got sent off last time, was it Drogba and Bosingwa? I know the former can't play but honestly I'd like to avoid playing the latter too. Bringing in Cahill could be a good idea, not sure if that'd be for Terry or Luiz though. Or maybe even switch Luiz to RB instead of Ivanovic, since he's only just back from injury? I'd like to see Ramires, Romeu and Essien in midfield. Those three would absolutely destroy QPR. Although if Lampard is fit I'd give him the nod over Romeu.

I don't think they're that much stronger than us to be honest. Are any of their central midfielders any better than say Essien at his best? Their defense looks even shakier than ours at times, especially with Savic in there. You have to consider we're missing Ivanovic and we've just strengthened that area too. The main differences for me are Silva, who as much as it pains me to say it, is still a long way ahead of Mata, and Aguero. It still depresses me to think we had a chance of signing him at one point.

I think he definitely raised his arm, but like I said it could have been to protect himself. Wouldn't surprise me if he escaped a ban, only he will know if he actually intended to hurt Kaboul I guess.

Alan he smashed his arm into Kaboul's face... I think he maybe did it for protection but it was still a very deliberate movement towards his face (and into it) - was a nasty one :( I don't think he's a particularly dirty player at all and seems like a decent fella, so maybe that's why he got away with it.

Of course, but we have almost 20 games to try and catch up. Fact is, City were lucky today that Defoe missed an open goal, and that a player who absolutely should not have been on the pitch (and will surely get a retrospective ban?) won and scored a penalty. They'll continue to drop points throughout the season, of course they will... I don't know about you guys but I want to finish as close to them as possible.

But City have dropped a lot of points recently, and could've/should've dropped points today too. I'm just a firm believer in going to the end, yes City have an incredibly squad but they've had an incredible squad for a few seasons now. They have their strengths and weaknesses just as we do.

(and yes, by the way, I know we essentially 'gained' 1 point on Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool which is good, but honestly we should be aiming above those teams anyway)

Yes, almost perfect. Except We dropped 2 points in a game we really should have won. Oh and two of the three teams above us picked up 3 points in tough matches. Please excuse me for looking above at United and City, instead of lookig below at Arsenal. (ideally I still maintain a draw would have been ideal in both matches, and honestly would have been the fair result in both too)

It happens. People gave Torres lots of stick yesterday for missing a similarly 'easy' chance, but even the absolute best and most on form players can make mistakes.

Sorry but I just don't buy that. Yes we have some catching up to do but no more than we had last season. The teams above us are looking very vulnerable at times, so if, and when, they slip up, I want us right up there to make the most of that.

Yes, for all of the criticism he gets on here for slowing down play, he's lost his legs, he doesn't think as quickly etc etc we looked a lot worse when Lampard went off. Saying that I think if AVB had put Essien on in his place, we'd have done a lot better than with Malouda on the pitch. f**k is that guy selfish on the ball at times.

It's quite depressing to see people on previous pages putting almost the sole blame on us not scoring on Torres, when he came closer than any other. Sturridge, Mata, Malouda etc offered almost zero going forward. And just take a look at Bosingwa's crossing record for this match (12 crosses, 0 landed with a Chelsea player) to see the real problem here. Why our entire team (Luiz aside) seemed to play so poorly I don't know. Nor do I have any clue what the solution is. Sturridge in particular I found really frustrating yesterday. Him playing on the left does have it's advantages, but the fact he always has to cut inside on his left boot slows down play and gives the defenders a chance to get into position or to get back at him and knick the ball from him. Sturridge really was so innefective yesterday it was painful to watch. I'd have preferred to see Lukaku coming on for him rather than Torres tbh...

Luiz was excellent, Lampard looked good when he was on, one of the few players in blue that seemed to know how to pass a ball. Cech solid, Torres was good other than the chance he squandered, but the rest left a lot to be desired. Malouda was selfish, Bosingwa was woeful. Wasn't impressed by AVB either - Torres at least looked fairly dangerous, Mata and Sturridge should have came off long before him IMO. Hope the decision not to bring on Essien instead of Malouda, or play Bosingwa ahead of Ivan was purely down to the latter two coming back from injury and not being near 100% fit again.
