regret
A bit stupid though to put all your eggs in that one basket

Relegation a real possibility?
Nonsense thread Charlton have more chance of winning promotion to the Premiership than Chelsea has of being relegated

Papering Over The Cracks
A lot of good points. Fabregas is painfully slow which really does put more of a burden on Matic, so hardly surprising he's not at his best either. Hazard is operating at 80% (he doesn't seem to have the same va va voom of last year) and it wouldn't surprise me if he goes should a Madrid, Bayern or Barcelona come in for him. Ivanovic is a liability at right back and needs to be dropped. As for up front Costa's indiscipline I'd say is as much frustration at his poor form possibly due to the fact he's been found out in his second season, players get to know how to play against him etc. Willian, Oscar and Ramires are still class acts and Pedro after a bright start has struggled as many players do when first exposed to the Premier League. You need to replace Terry and Ivanovic with top class replacements and maybe convert Fabregas into a squad player rather than a starter. He is not a number 10 and I'd say an Ozil or Iniesta type in the role would create so many more chances than you do now. That's where you are really lacking in my view.

As some one old enough to not only remember the 60s and 70s but also watched lots of football back then. The Chelsea teams back then had some wonderful players. Tambling, Cooke, Osgood, Hutchinson, Bridges, Graham, Hollins, etc I also thought Houseman was very underrated. You might think I don't care for modern day Chelsea and in some ways you are right. I don't care for the fact you have some wonderfully gifted players but they often are used in a cynical style of play. A bit like Leeds under Don Revie. For that reason in 1970 I was very much keen on Chelsea beating what I thought was a horrible dirty cynical Leeds team then and cheered the fact you did. Nowadays, it's different. You can't get away with that stuff. However, I think with the players you now have. Wonderful players like Willian, Oscar, Hazard.......you could play in a way more exciting. It's disappointing the Mourinho pragmatism doesn't allow that.

I wasn't trying to take the piss just somewhat surprised a thread like this could be countenanced by Chelsea fans after all Mourinho had done for you and forgive me if I didn't read every post. The thread title kind of surprised me and it's that to which I responded. As for Charlton, I'm a realist, necessary if you support them. I don't expect too much and there is a reason why we are 17th in the Championship and Cardiff are 5th. OK, you kill me with your piss taking of Charlton. I don't mind. We have won 2 out of 9 games so far in the league. I'm not a Chelsea fan with the sense of entitlement you have. In fact, I'm a pretty easy target. So have a go. Like I care.

Can we "still" win the league?
It's still possible for Chelsea to win the league Despite the average start However you still need to perform more consistently You have the players but the concern is that Terry has now gone, Cahill looks less confident without him and Zouma is still learning I'd say it's still very much open after only 7 games but you can't keep dropping points All very obvious to be fair

Diego "the guv'nor" Costa
A considered piece from one of our top journalists. The final word on the matter for me. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11879887/Diego-Costa-betrayed-football-for-Chelsea-against-Arsenal-and-provoked-FA-into-action.html

Are you suggesting the FA have developed some kind of hatred for Chelsea and are using their powers to unjustly punish them? Or are you being a tad paranoid?

Eva Carneiro
Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of this, it's a shame that in a male dominated sport, Chelsea having demonstrated a welcome progressive move to employ a woman as team doctor, has now seen her leave on what are rumoured to be not the best of terms.

Diego "the guv'nor" Costa
Gabriel gets off? Must be on the grounds of the Matic case last season. In which case, Costa will be banned instead. They've still charged Gabriel with improper conduct after being red carded so ill doubt he will get off Scot free.
