  1. Really tough one today. 2-1 us. Come on the Chels.
  2. If he loses a yard of pace he'll be downgraded to world class and only covering 99% of the earth. On a serious note if this is a problem we are f.....
  3. With Kante out I'd like to see Abraham and Giroud start. Try to press and make it stick up front. Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen Mount (Pedro), Kovacic, Jorginho, Emerson Barkley (Mount) Abraham, Giroud
  4. Edit - Azpilacuetta, Rudiger, Christensen Unlikely FL changes formation but if he did then 343 could be a solution to our defensive problems and might play to our strengths until we can bring in a couple of players. Would like to see if Azpilacuetta could get his form back in a 3.
  5. Of course he needs time, like the team/management. Thought he played well against Norwich and Liverpool. Just hope he doesn't struggle to adapt to the EPL, that's all.
  6. Kepa Tomori, Rudiger, Christensen Pulisic/Pedro, Kante, Jorginho, Emerson/Alonso Mount, Abraham, Cho Obviously haven't taken Wolves system, players or form into consideration.
  7. Not sure he's an offensive midfielder but still thought he linked up the play well. In the drills before the game Kovacic did the exact same thing as the chance he had during the game where he pulled it wide. He also stood out in the one where we keep the ball in the tight space and play quick balls to the open player. Thing about that 2nd drill is I only remember us do it once in the game and it was kovacic orchestrating. Agree Pulisic and Mount were anonymous yesterday, maybe that's why to you kovacic looked bad in the opposition half. I really hope Pulisic doesn't fall into the 'not suited to the Premier League' bucket at the end of the season.
  8. Thought Willian did ok too, needed to after his last performance. If you're being balanced, there was a chance on the break about midway through the 2nd half where Abraham should have picked him out that probably would have settled the game. To be fair if that was the other way around he'd have been slaughtered. Just on that, I get that people don't like or have a thing for certain players and are entitled to their opinion. But all the way through the 2nd half Kovacic and Willian were getting hammered by 3 or 4 people around me. Save it for after the game.
  9. Good post and agree with most of it (edited above because it was quite long). The Kovacic / Barkley thing though? Going on yesterdays game alone I don't know how you can say Barkley was that much better than Kovacic. I thought Barkley was poor in the first half but coming into it towards the end. I even said at halftime that I thought Tomori, Kovacic and Abraham were our better players.
  10. Really disappointing end. We didn’t play well today at all, even the first half was down to a few good individual performances. But it’s going to be that kind of season. Was good to see Gilmore getting minutes but not sure that was the time to do it, even though he did ok. Makes the journey home a bit longer.
  11. Thought Tamori played well. Kovacic had a good half and of course Abraham. He held the ball up well and fought hard against their defence. Emerson stupidly raised an arm off the ball. Barkley is growing into it a bit after a very slow start. Come on Chelsea lets finish it off early with a 3rd from Abraham.
  12. Started the journey. Don't get to the Bridge as much but haven't been so up for a game in years. Like people said I think there's a different feeling, maybe it's hope more than expectation, the possibility of exciting football and really wanting the manager and players, especially the young lads, to do well. We're on the back foot a bit too. So not that I'd care too much if we fell out of the current top 4 but it would be great to continue to compete for it and have some sort of European football, if not every season. Come on Chelsea.
  13. FL asked Deschamps to leave him out of France in order to recover and he did. Be surprised if he takes any part on the back of that.
  14. Like our Group. Decent games & locations.
  15. Continue with your life as if it never happened?
  16. I've blocked this out so much I can't remember anything about it other than we got knocked out and Ranieri went. I think we drew 0-0 at home and lost heavily over there, 3-0 or something. Not googling because I dont want to know. Would like to get RM for a change and 2 of the 'easier' sides. Possible trip to Madrid would be nice.
  17. With injuries considered. Rudiger for Christensen to deal with the set pieces alongside Zouma and Kante for Barkley if fully fit.
  18. "wear your blue and see us through" not "wear something that makes you sweat like a pig so much it turns see through". so yes.
  19. First time to see us in the league under Frank this weekend. Looking forward to being there more than any game in a long time...despite knowing there's a chance we could lose if we continue to defend poorly. Haven't seen much of them so not sure what to expect. I read Norwood in CM retired from Intl football last week. 28 and probably NI's best player?, strange. If we need to rest Kante...Kepa, Azpilacueta, Rudiger, Zouma, Emerson, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Barkley, Hudson Odoi? (Pedro), Abraham. When did we last have an all English starting attack? I'd guess Paul Furlong was leading the line. Pulisic from the bench, not sure this one will be good for him so early in his PL career.
  20. That made me laugh. Don't remember it but wouldn't put it past him.
  21. For the sake of my health I'm just going accept this will be a rollercoaster season and not get overly hopeful when we play well or too frustrated when we don't. As long as we show progress throughout the season and go some way to fixing how we defend as a team I'll be happy.
  22. Jorginho should have blasted that. Hope these chances dont come back on us.
