The correct thing to do was to notify Chelsea that City had made an approach and let the clubs negotiate compensation at which point Maresca can then meet with City. Mutu had a contract and broke the obligations of that contract and owed Chelsea compensation. No different to this case. I understand there is a sexual attraction to Maresca amongst some fans, similar to that of Jorginho and Sarri and no sense of reasoning can break those undying bonds of love and infatuation.

How many managers get held personally liable and end up owing their previous club compensation and having to issue and apology? This isn't just a run of the mill club buys out manager.

Why would you care about any club other than Chelsea? I don't really understand this reasoning. West Ham got relegated and i couldn't care less. If Chelsea got relegated, i'd be devastated. If a manager disrespects another club, i'd laugh. If our manager disrespects us we have every right to think he's a twat.

You might be happy to accept someone disrespecting the club, but no one else is. Were you happy with Mutu doing drugs and getting banned and ultimately owing the club money or were you annoyed that someone the club had invested so much money in could show such a complete lack of respect to the club? The disrespect is openly meeting with a rival club while leading Chelsea on a 7 game winless run.

Just trying to explain football how supporting a club works. Surprisingly, its not possible to support a club before you're born. I never wanted him hired in the first place. That doesn't mean we should be happy when someone insults and disrespects the club.

All of the above. Played the most turgid football we've seen while publicly embarrassing himself in press conferences. Then met another club in secret multiple times after signing improved terms with us. Then tried to get himself sacked with his comments in the media and when that failed walked mid season. This is very backwards logic. No one is upset he's gone but they can still be upset by the disrespect he showed the club. I don't think we can rule out the possibility that it was Maresca that spiked Mudryk in an attempt to derail our world class star in the making before he jumped ship. Certainly something we should be looking in to.

This makes no sense, two things can be true at the same time. We can be thankful he's gone for a payout and still admit he's a monumental bellend. Just because we got an apology and some money doesn't absolve him of all his sins. Maresca dick riders are a weird bunch.

We've been asking them to be transparent with the fan base with day one, this is one the few times they actually have. There were so many false rumours about us sacking him etc. thank god they addressed the situation and put it to bed.
