Number 7's standing to attention! Who is that?

What period was our mob at its peak
According to MK's Hoolifan, the standard uniform for the Chelsea boys this game was Fred Percy's and Jungle Greens. It was the transition between the end of Mod and the start of Skinhead I suppose.

You really are beyond parody, Mr "' I wouldn't be where I am today!" If you didn't exist someone would have to invent you as the living embodiment of a " spoilt brat of a football fan", whose world falls to pieces when a few dark clouds appear on the horizon. i bet you were thumping the table to hammer home the point when you announced to the world your discontentment with winning the odd cup when what you demand is parity with Real, Barca and Bayern. You appear to be without semblance of self awareness or sense of irony? Like I said, a glory hunting twit of the first order.

The more I read this the ludicrous you sound " it's like criticising a bloke who does a 9-5 for having the ambition to start his own busines!" My hole point was in life you are able to paddle you own canoe- by following a football team you are completely out of control and inevitably suffer the slings and arrows of fortune. By the way, just why did you become a Chelsea fan in the first place? Are you one of the mythical figures who lives hundreds of miles from Stamford Bridge but had a stepdad that once lived in Fulham? Glory hunting twit......

And just how do you manifest this ultra competitive streak of yours into the mindset of the rulers of the football club you proclaim to support? Blokes like you make me ashamed to be a Chelsea fan Edit- to qualify the above statement, I read your previous comments to colleagues who support West Ham, Spurs and QPR- the consensus was if winnng things attracts " fans" like that your welcome to it.

Blimey. The pinnacle of entitlement. It seems to me that Chelsea is a vehicle of reflected glory here. I'm sure followers of Grimsby Town want to be on the level of Real, Barca and Bayern too. I'd like to win the Euromillions ( your setting your self up for a lifetime of disappointment if you align YOUR ambitions to that of a football club) Weve come a long way, we've won everything in sight, yet it seems like anything less than guaranteed future world domination is a kick in the teeth for some.

That looks like Piccadilly to me. ( Air France HQ ) Both firms met by chance at Piccadilly Circus tube leading to something like 100 arrests, so presumably this pic is just before.

That game has got to be the obvious example of the actual gate being bigger than the official gate I can remember.

I think we run about 3 specials that day. We had both tiers of the away end plus the side enclosure. Remember the train back being very downbeat- we had nothing but the FA Cup to play for and lived in hope as ever.

Most cup Finals are cagey affairs, yesterday was no exception. ( emancipated by 2 managers whom the entertaining the public notion is a low priority) I loved the win, got royally pissed- can't believe how many FA wins we've chalked up bearing in mind it's only just over 20 years ago we had a paltry 1 success to our name. Wish we played with a bit more verve and panache but you can't have everything. Ps For selfish reasons, hope Hazard has a dog of a World Cup, because he's got to be looming large on a lot of radars.

Like I've said all along, Conte is a genius of a manager whose vigour and acumen has brought home the bacon ( again). Bored the bollox off us, but some afternoons you can't be too choosy!

Apologies if I'm on repeats- can't remember what memories I've already posted- the 6-nil I went to with an Arsenal mate from school who was very impressed with the atmosphere and general banter. The 4-nil in 84 for some reason I didn't go, but remember Kevin Keegan saying that Pat Nevin must have had glue on the end of his boot- this really tickled a mate of mine who for a while after kept proclaiming " Pats got glue!" Its been mentioned on here before but the away in 84 I was on one of the specials that got walked through what I now know as the Big Market- we must have walked past half a dozen pubs and there were glasses flying everywhere. When we got to the ground, we were standing in the away end street, when a copper said " why dyou want to get in now. Why don't you take a walk around the corner and have some fun" A few of the chaps duly darted off- I saw one of these blokes inside the ground a bit later and asked how they got on, to which he replied "'we made em look silly". Funny thing was he had a great big shiner on him, so it couldn't have been plain sailing!

A lot of pace there with Walker, Rhodes Brown and Driver. Some inch perfect crosses delivered to the nut of Colin Lee. We gave the geordies a couple of spankings back then ( there was a 4-nil as well I think) "Sing when your mining, you only sing when your mining!"

FA Cup Memories
First final I remember was Sunderland v Leeds 73. Don't know whether this still happens now, but after the game kids would en masse go down the local park for a kick about. No ticket for Boro in 97 but celebrated on the Kings Rd. The biggest piss up Ive witnessed with Chelsea

Help with this chant please
It was one of those songs you used to hear in pubs before the game- can't ever remember it being sung in the Shed when I was present ( 78 onwards) Theres several verses- not sure who penned it- never know it might have been Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice!

On our flight from Stanstead ( To Malmo where we hired a car from- all the direct flights were sold out) remember looking down the plane and all you could see were scores of big fat bald heads with those horizontal creases you notice from behind. It was a wonder the plane got airborne with all that lard on board.

Brilliant pics. Ron Harris and his sweet shop! Can you imagine a current Chelsea player, owning and helping out with the running of a corner shop? Theres a story in Ossies book about when he and another player checked out Choppers sweet shop, which incidentally was very close to where I now live. Apparantly Ossie casually picked up a Mars bar or similar, and started eating it, which led Ron Harris to remark " I hope your gonna pay for that?"

It only seems like yesterday that Conte was hailed as the perfect antidote to Mourinho. He got on with the job without fuss- no winging about refs, fixture congestion, FA conspiracys; we even played with a bit of flair and panache. What a difference a year makes. Saying that not that long ago there was a theory that a manager had to be a bit of a horrible bastard to win the premiership- this was during the Fergie/ Moueinho days when " dark managerial arts" were in vogue, then suddenly Leicester triumph with a cutie pie boss at the helm. f**k knows what the future holds, I just hope that Roman doesn't decide to surprise everyone by keeping hold of a dead duck coach.- Vintage Blues pictures and film
Can't believe that's 20 years ago. Theres something in the forum archives about Damon getting a slap on the flight home. Ps did anyone go to that big barn of a place called the Green Jaeger- a lot of old school Chelsea met there I think the night before the game? - Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
