Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
He is letting them know exactly where they stand & letting them be masters of their own destiny. They need to tell their agents to get a move sorted out quickly. I would rather hear the truth than be told a lie.

One thing about Enzo is that he is not afraid of the big decisions, in fact I think he relishes them.

Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
PSG might be interested in buying him.

The size of the squad is a hindrance not a help. The owners have Made Enzo's job harder not easier. Maresca is not going to walk & nor should he.

It was very strange for me. Maresca has always maintained that he will stick with his system come hell or high water but he definitely changed it today. I did see some positives today but felt Maresca doesn't know what his best team is yet. I don't think the USA pre season tour helped one bit.

This team does not appear to be playing Maresca type football. They look good to me.

I'm sure Maresca had some idea about what to expect from Todd & his pals. He is an extremely confident person & probably thought that he would be able to deal with it. Hopefully some serious housekeeping will happen before the deadline. I want Enzo to succeed !!

Therein lies the problem, lots of teams do not have the quality to do it successfully but do it anyway. It's hilarious when it's not my team.

I Meant to say doing a pre-season in the US

Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
I realize that doing pre-season is a money maker but with so many games & so much travel I don't think it helps a manager bring in a new system.

I'm sure Maresca has learned from last season & will have a plan B this season.

I feel that having much higher quality players will improve his system, Leicester just did not have enough quality to make his system exciting.

He stated many times at Leicester that he would not change the system. Towards the end of the season opposition managers initiated a low block against us & refused to chase the ball so tapping the football around in midfield did nothing. We dropped points like crazy but Enzo refused to change.

Wesley Fofana at Chelsea *Official*
He had it all as a young player at Leicester. I really hope he can stay healthy as he's a pleasure to watch when on his game.

If your defenders are comfortable on the ball and your keeper can pass the ball the system will work.

Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
Yes ... The defenders have to be very comfortable with the ball. I would have thought Wesley Fofana would do well in a Maresca team. Have the injuries changed his game.?

Maresca's type of football (pep ball) can work with the right players & obviously a buy in from those players. Pre season was always going to be difficult but I don't think it's a clear indication of how well the team will play under Maresca. He's single minded & extremely stubborn & will not tolerate players that don't buy in. As I said before, I wasn't crazy about the tippy tappy football but he knows what he wants & will live or die with it.

No we do not ... All sales are final !! I'm glad that he's gone but having said that we have lots of supporters saying how great Maresca was. He could still do a job for you once he gets the team selection right but he needs a Plan B ..

Chelsea v Celtic, (pre-season), Sat 27th July 24, 2100 GMT
Thats what happened at Leicester at the end of last season. Teams worked out to beat Maresca's system.

The keepers in the 60's/70's were very good at distributing the ball by throwing it out. It worked every bit as well as the keeper passing it out.

I watched Gordon Banks play in the early 60''s & in those days keepers weren't expected to dribble past the offence . His distribution was good & in those days the keeper would throw the ball out to his defence quite a lot.

Sad but very true !! The PL need to change the system.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Decent Squad Player
Leicester had to sell & realistically he was our only academy product that was worth anything so he was forced into moving rather than asking for a move. We face a points deduction this coming season & are almost certainly going to struggle in a relegation battle. Compared with being close to the top of the league & playing in Europe not to mention a substantial pay increase I'm sure he views the move as a positive.. Maresca will use him but he wont see the game time he got at Leicester
-
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Decent Squad Player
That's exactly how I see him fitting in. He will give Maresca another option of the bench.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Decent Squad Player
I agree. PSR needs a complete re-write to make it user friendly. Fans do not want to see home grown players sold !! My club are already facing a points deduction & now are forced to sell top players. I Hate It !!
