Afterword...made it back to hotel- bout 20 of us- went on for a pint in some back street boozer- amongst us were Sam ( Lovejoy) who passed away recently- there’s some great testimonies to him on various Chelsea forums, and his boyhood mate Tommy David RIP- both from Willesden and original 69 Chelsea skins- Anyway in this pub- Tommy Davis with his Pork Pie hat on starts singing “ Underneath the Arches”....giving it all the theatrical movements...changed the lyrics to “ Underneath the Armpits “ Brought the house down” Fantastic days

Went to Maine Road- one of the last games played there in 2003- Zola got completely outmuscled that day and was pretty ineffectual which was very rare. A smattering of Millwall were with us that day, who’d had previous ding dongs with City. We left before the pitch invasion and the mini invasion of our end. Was on a bus going back to Deansgate where our hotel was- very moody on there- phone rang which had a Blue is The Colour ringtone- luckily managed to silence it about a second in otherwise they’d still be picking up me teeth now.

If you decide to support a successful club that you have no geographical or family supporting links with, the chances are the are, that the long supporting/ match going fans will welcome you and tolerate you until you start moaning like f**k when results start going wrong.

Went up with in a sales rep mates escort estate, six of us, with the back seats down; four in the back sitting cross legged with a crate of beer in the middle. Remember going through Richmond Park en route to the M1- one of our crowd piped up with “ I really love this park”...next thing without thinking he’s slung an empty out the window.... Saw Jimmy Hill who was commentating driving up in his Peugeot. Being stupid teenagers we overtook him, all giving it the exaggerated chin stroke gesture. Good day out all and all. The last three aways of City, Pompey, and Grimsby were epic

He reported to pre season at Inter a ton overweight apparently. Well above his “ fighting weight” of 15 stone 9 pound. Comfort eating/ overactive thyroid?

Find it hilarious how many of our our so called fans ( many on here have never even set foot in the Bridge) are getting their knickers in a twist because we are underperforming. As Blue is the Colour Said “ Cheer us on through the sun and rain” If your not able to accept the bumps in the road f**k off and support someone else

Very. clean pair of feet. Shame about the tache! Remember seeing the Leeds Service Crew, on their way to Arsenal in the Cup probably 83. All vaulting the Underground ticket barrier at Kings X. Moustache central.

Quite a nicely flighted ball that. About the most delicate thing he ever did! Strange looking bloke with his hay seed hair and missing teeth. Braveheart central casting. Can you imagine what his sister looked like 😃

Should have been involved in the 1970 World Cup. Jackie Charlton went on record as saying Alf should have picked him, because “ He was top of the tree” at that time

Just checked date of Sheffield Utd away- 8/5/93 30 years ago give or take. Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana

A scouser I knew said the funniest thing he ever saw at Anfield, was two coach loads of us disembark - curly perm wigs- shell suits- “‘Calm Down”......This fella was pretty hardcore and not especially enamoured with Londoners but said all the natives were doubling up. Whatever year we had Sheffield Utd away last game of the season- early 90’s- loads of blokes in flat caps- instead of ticker tape reception torne up Hovis - Hovis theme getting hummed during course of the match. They’re was one bloke next to me with a flat cap on with a plastic pigeon glued on top. That to me was Chelsea fans at there best. Totally, completely irreverent, having a laugh, taking the piss

Our New Stadium
Good point. Earls Court is not a sh*t hole however it’s not as exclusive as our current location. Not sure how the Stamford Bridge acreage and the proposed new plot compare?

Can you please define the word toxic?

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
I get where you’re coming from but hardly a toxic brand. So our main corporate partners are 3, and Nike. D’you think people are gonna chuck there Samsung phones into a pond because we lack a decent centre forward? Refuse to wear Nike Airforce trainers out of principal cause we’ve spunked too much dough on wingers?

Mine was grey with blue lettering- can’t remember then in any other colours? Pompey and Millwall were hammer and tong for years. Quite a while after that pic at The New Den there was an away travel ban between those two- that Westwood geyser with the bell, in some book mentions “ Well I go to all the games” Cut a long story he got sussed out by the natives. FA Cup 95- turned up there without a ticket- met an ex pro boxer Millwall face from my manor outside by chance who happened to have a spare- don’t think he realised I was Chelsea- had to contain my emotions that afternoon.

Went to Swansea in 82- similar scenario with Chelsea being escorted down the touchline- the highlights were televised and it shows a little herd being ushered back to the right end.

We were in Ibiza summer 84- met some Aberdeen fans who were upset that Doug was leaving. One went on to say he was very skilful for his size 😂
