Will be short lived. Benzema returning to the form of his life with back to back hattricks.

Maybe he will get the flu.

Sacking him the first time was obviously the right call but it really hurt, and you know it did for him too. Now we get a chance at a happier ending. He's doing us a favour here, there might not be many managers champing at the bit to finish off a Graham Potter season where we're already doomed into finishing mid-table, or to take on the challenge of trying to prepare for the European Champions in less than a week. Lampard's stepped up again (and again it's probably not the right move for looking after his own career at this point), I'm grateful for it.

It might not work out in practice (and it's unfair to expect it in the short time he'll have), but after the season we've had I'm just so happy to have a manager that I know will at least have the intent to have us look like Chelsea again.

With all the negativity around the club this in my humble opinion is a good move.

I hope he changes the things most fans want to see changed, and if we lose at least we burn out not fade away as the saying goes.

It’s a good place to come into and give it a lash, with very little to play for in the league and most people have us written off already in the CL.

Welcome back home Frank, some of us missed ya 😉

Given the recent news about Bruno, they had to do something. I was happy with the take it slow option and it's not like any of the big names would have made a mega impact within a week against Madrid.

This is the same approach, taking it slow and finding the right guy. At least we'll play with passion though, nothing to lose.

Happy to see Lampard back, even if it's for a short while.

Boehly probably been reading this forum, even in February some been talking about Lampard returns as interim for Potter to rescue the season, and here we are in April. I'm contend with this, last thing you want is another 5 year deal for the manager that's not right for us. Lampard has something to prove to himself, so I think he will drive the players.  If Lampard wins the CL, that's another discussion at the end of the season.

Frank always comes to the club in times of need. The last time he did it was during our transfer ban and he got us back into the CL. This time it is at a time when the club is in a bit of turmoil and everyone from players to fans needs a bit of a mood lift. He's the perfect person to do that until the end of the season and smooth the transition for the next manager that takes over.

Welcome back Frank!

I'm torn on this.

On one hand, it seems writing off the season is prudent to allow a new manager the unique opportunity to work with the squad in match conditions, essentially a much better version of a pre-season, and come into the summer with a clear idea and plan for the squad/transfers.

On the other hand, appointing Lampard should lift sprits in the dressing-room and off the pitch. It is a statement of intent to win the Champions League and secure a good EPL finish and not simply write-off the rest of the season. Lampard has a somewhat proven record of "rescuing" seasons for both Chelsea and Everton, despite his inability to improve the season after, and he has access to players he did not have before - proper DMs in Enzo and Zakaria, wingers who break teams apart 1v1 in Sterling, Mudryk and Madueke, proper depth at CB and of course more experienced versions of Mount, James and Chilwell.

Let's just enjoy it for what it is. No top manager wanted to touch us with a barge poll with a transfer ban and no Hazard, so in came Frank, taking a massive risk on little experience and he helped us make a bunch of money (Top 4, Tomori, Abraham) and develop a world class player (James) and probably make more money on another (Mount). He also convinced Thiago Silva to come here, and I will say that, imo, no Silva no CL win in 2021, he was as vital as TT for me.

Now either Todd and co are too nervous of messing up again and/or their targets won't join till the summer so along comes good old Frank in another difficult situation with little to gain, more likely to damage his managerial record further, yet he is willing to risk it cause he loves the club.

Thank you Frank and welcome back Leg :)
