olderschoolcfc got a reaction from Sconnie Blue in Enzo Fernandez - Officially a Blue!Dude, see JT's (captain, leader, legend) comments on Mounts exit, its a weirdo fanbase jumping on a player who was instrumental in us winning the second champions league... 😉
TBH, I thought it was classless what Enzo did what he did, I expect much better of Chelsea players.
and whatever you say, id rather Mount in the starting 11 than Enzo but its done now and we have the "elite" 100 million quid Enzo driving the midfield on.

How I see Pochettino approaching this task is: he let's players be players. He doesn't stifle their creativity like Jose or Pep. With young and experienced players you need a bit more firm hand. You actually need to go very specific on why you do that or don't do that. He is not running an army but a group of artists. He lets players learn the mistakes inside games. In long run I think that is good but here and now for fans it is horrible watching expensive players making simple mistakes game after game.
I think he is doing 7/10 work. Which for me is enough to go on towards the next season.
I think he needs to add some more rules for players for next season. And give specific instructions to individual players.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from forbzy in Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!Mr BIG.GAME.PLAYER turn up again last night?
Different player to hazard, equally destructive and probably more disciplined.
brilliant signing.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from forbzy in So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!Great result... we kept playing for the 160 minutes... Defending across the league has been trash the last couple of weeks, we're no exception but as opposed to last season when scoring was an issue, we're now scoring so that's that sorted.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from GarnachoCheese in Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"I actually thought he looked imperious before that pass... was really impressive display he was putting int, then it was a case of rebuilding his confidence.
didnt do too badly afterwards... but the damage was done and this sides confidence is brittle to say the least. confidence and game time will fix it.

olderschoolcfc reacted to Nibs in So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone! Can't believe the amount of moaning after such an entertaining game of football where we WON and got all 3 points off Man Utd.
All this "papering over the cracks bollocks". Just enjoy the win FFS!
I was as annoyed as anyone when we let that 2-0 goal lead slip but always knew there was no way we were keeping a clean sheet - not with that defence. Sure, you can blame Poch for being stubborn and not playing Silva, but other than that what can he do with the defenders out injured and players like Caicedo and Badiashille dropping absolute clangers?
I hope from now until the end of the season we see more of Carney & Noni, as when those two are on the pitch, along with Palmer, Mudryk, Enzo and Gusto, we ARE great to watch and we can cause any team problems.
Jackson though is still not a striker.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from alvarezCFC in Chelsea v Burnley (PL) Sat 30th Mar 24 15:00 GMTNot really mate, just cant be bothered posting and saying the same Sh*t every other game. I skip out the poch out brigade as its usually the same words arranged differently in every single post, they should probably get some ADHD or obsessive compulsion illness checked out.
not expected anything different from our squad. Just going to get to end of season and probably not give a hoot to be honest with you. It's a team that will need another season playing together, potentially one after that. Ive also said before this side, regardless of the manager need to grow up and take responsibility for results. Bar Palmer and a few others, the rest need to take a long hard look at themselves and buck their ideas up. They need to start delivering results consistently.
Was thinking that we're dropping all this money on future potential but the model theyre using is a permanent growth model. X,Y,Z players will be worth 10/15 million more in five years time etc... Im struggling to think of a youngster bought in the Roman era that went on to huge success. Hazard probably... Do remember Di Santo for example was 16 million at the time. A wigan favourite from what I remember. Very few clubs have got away with the approach we're trying. I dont think the manager is the problem. I said very early on this season, Clearlake out. Nothing has made me change that position. But ive also not spent the season shouting and getting angry at people for the decisions they've made for players or manager. It's just making do with what we have. A talented group of players who show potential and a manager who hasn't yet got them all singing from the same sheet.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from GarnachoCheese in Romeo LaviaI guess we'll never know how Gilmour would have developed at Chelsea. Which is a shame because he's more than holding his own in a Brighton team that has struggled this season.
He really wouldn't have been any worse than Jorginho, Kovacic, Lavia, Enzo, caicedo in our midfield. I remember when he played he was always a bright spot in midfield. Doesnt matter anyway, he's at Bohleys fetish club and im sure we could buy him back at a vastly inflated fee in future.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from The Rising Sun in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCI dont know how the club can even remotely justify continuing to pay these ludicrous prices for players anymore unless the owners are washing money through our club... and the more we do this the less ridiculous this claim is to make. It looks like dodgy Russian money has simply been replaced by Dirty American money. Just my opinion but something about our dealings just doesnt sit right with me the past 18 months.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from timetowaste in Romeo LaviaReally dont want or need your pity. I see what I see... I see lame ducks who have arrived on massive fees doing nothing to justify the expense being lavished upon them or justifying the contracts they have. It's what's known as throwing good money after bad. The players in question have been awful "investments". deny that claim...
If you think that there is anything else to football besides money, youre a fool. Success and money go hand in hand in sport, Without it you and us fans wouldn't have the silverware cabinet we currently do or the or the ability to chant "we've won it all"
Anyhow, tell me again how Forfana and Lavia haven't been absolutely shocking signings.

olderschoolcfc got a reaction from timetowaste in Romeo Laviamust be traumatic seeing a bank balance going up 100k per week for having your legs rubbed by a physio daily... just filled a rehab pool with my tears.
I do get what you mean despite my pithy comment, its professional football and sport, but tbh, it's us fans who are paying him to rehabilitate. It's the ticket prices, shirts, pies & pints in the ground and other things that go up to give a player a guided existence. But Honestly think the club should just claim the insurance on them.
Forfana is just mugging the club off at this point. He will never be the same again. Leicester probably still cant believe their luck they bent Todd over in his Brighton sex dungeon. Lavia has lost an entire season of football and sporting development integration with the side. Will he now be as good as his promise showed? no. I dont think so... but I honestly wish the best for these young gents. But on someone else's dime.
I also question the desire to play too. I think it's far too easy to sit or hide on the sidelines and not get involved because things haven't gone well on the field this season.
It has been a regular issue for a number of seasons. If any manager has our fully available squad - think results would have been different. Our midfield needs power, it clearly takes a toll on players and rotation is needed. We haven't had the rotation so actually kudos to Caicedo/ Enzo/ Gallagher on their fitness and stamina, unlike others, they have all shown they're physically capable of staying fit and being in our plant room.
Anyhow... back to the premier league... life is good again even if our results might not be.
