WhiteWall got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Fun Poll.Apt at this time

WhiteWall reacted to dkw in Geovany QuendaBest thing about those highlights is hes willing to play the first time simple pass at times, always looking to advance the ball, not always looking to do a hundred step overs and beat 3 mean...twice, then lose it. Seems to pick out passes really well, is very calm in possession, then can turn it on when needed.
Just glad hes coming this season when the clown has gone as he would have took all that out of his game and had him just playing simple balls backwards 90% of the time.

WhiteWall got a reaction from Carloseyebrow in Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea ManagerNo point engaging with you yet again. I am talking about setting a required standard of application and instilling that standard in the mindset of the entire dressing room. What is it about this concept, that exists in all successful dressing rooms that you are not grasping.
-
WhiteWall got a reaction from Carloseyebrow in Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea ManagerI never said that did I. Do you honestly think every single players attitude and standard is in the bin so we should throw the lot away. Get a grip. Life doesn't work like that.
A couple of examples made, a clear distinction of what expectations are and the standards to be maintained and most of this group will get the message quick enough. Trust me not one of these players got to the position they are now in displaying this level of technical ineptitude and disinclination to run as much as possible for each other. Nobody in academy football or their previous clubs would have give them this amount of leeway.
If it means some high profile players are moved on, some bigger egos suddenly find themselves second choice to squad players willing to put a shift in, then so be it.

WhiteWall got a reaction from Carloseyebrow in Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea ManagerI'd play the kids if we're sh*t anyway. If Garnacho cannot perform the basic function of control and passing and is unwilling to bust his lungs running, then I'd play Derry instead. What's the cost? In fact not throwing these players away and playing the kids instead sends the wrong message as to what is the acceptable standard.
The minimum standards line needs to be drawn and if a player consistently fails to meet that standard he cannot play. Simple as. It's about creating a team, regardless of the merits and worth of any of the individuals within it.

WhiteWall got a reaction from just in Jackson transferThe hilarity of this. Jackson is "prepared" to stay at Chelsea. No, no mate. You go ahead and pick one of the suitors that are queuing up at your door.

WhiteWall reacted to Term_X in Alejandro GarnachoAha, it was the good old forward runs, he runs forward a lot, FPR-rate, and of course, the PG (progressive carries) stat, where you carry the ball for at least 10 meters. You put that in a spread sheet + PowerPoint and an agent can fool 80 IQ sporting directors who got their jobs on social politics and luck, to sign such a player. The eye test, i.e what those stats are actually producing for such player on the pitch, taken completely out of the equation of course.

WhiteWall got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea ManagerApparently looking at Jonathan fking Rowe. The problem we've got is that these directors are really really sh*t at what they do. Its impossible for us to move forward with these clowns, wearing Shallow Hall glasses, being in charge.

WhiteWall got a reaction from The Rising Sun in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCI think I'm right that the sponsorship deals with betting companies has to stop now for the 26/27 season onwards. There are, I think, 10 PL clubs (West Ham got relegated) currently with betting company sponsors that are all out there looking for new partners. Yet these clowns are still confident of getting a sponsor for 50m-60m. What a load of crap.
-
WhiteWall reacted to C3blue in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCYou would have thought having failed to get a sponsor for years claiming lack of CL was costing them that after achieving CL and winning CWC they would have struck while the iron was hot. Especially knowing as you point out how saturated the market would be of prem clubs looking for a sponsors when the betting deals are excluded.
Could have sign a 4 yr deal on much more than the £30m they are cap in handing around for at the minute.
No foresight. Complete incompetence.

The original tweet was quality banter. Completely ruined by this pathetic woke arse kiss. How can these Americans continually misread every single situation. I am trying to think if I can remember a time when I have hated everything about this club less than I do right now.

WhiteWall reacted to markpitts in BlueCo buy Chelsea FC“Chelsea are the other big losers in the index, with their projected front-of-shirt sponsorship value falling from £50.3m to £33.6m, following their failure to qualify for any European competition. The club, however, are confident their sponsorship value remains closer to £50m.”
-
WhiteWall reacted to Sexyfootball in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCThe previous run rate was £40m a year from Yokohama and Three ... dating all the way back to 2015/16 LOL.
£33m in 2026 is the equivalent of about £23m in 2015 so if this comes to pass they'll be effectively halving our FOS deal from the Roman era 🤠
"Not terribly well run .. " etc etc
-
WhiteWall got a reaction from OTL in Joao PedroI think a major point being overlooked though is why would elite players want to play for a mediocre mid table club in a small ground, that pays low salaries, doesn't compete and cannot make European competition when half of the division has qualified.

WhiteWall reacted to SydneyChelsea in Alejandro GarnachoGarnacho's signing is evidence of what @Bob stark has pointed out, that the only "data" that actually matters to our Five Fools are wages and ages. The idea that this club engages some sort of sophisicated scouting or 'moneyball' approach is an utter lie.
Garnacho was statistically a bad fit. Even putting aside his actual output, which could be excused because of his age and Man U's poor overall performances, the SDs knew that Maresca's system needed wingers who could win 1vs1 for it to work. Garnacho was statistically one of the worst in Europe at this particularly metric. He is very good at one particular thing, which is running on to through-balls off the shoulder or on the counter-attack, but Maresca's system did not play that way. The comments earlier in this thread show that this is far from hindsight.
What the Five Fools did see was:
A young player coming from a big club, with both CL and PL experience
Relatively low wages
Exploitable contract situation ie. player wanted out, so limited fee
In other words, they were looking purely at his resale value. I would bet my last dollar that every analyst at the club would have been knocking down Winstanley's door, only to be told that it would be "taken under advisement".
What they didn't seen coming was Gittens and/or Neto being so abysmal that Garnacho needed to be the first choice for that position, meaning all his weaknesses were completely exposed and the team suffered. The plan would have been to see him average 10 G/A over a couple of seasons then hock him off at age 23, where he was young enough to be considered potential but would come with bags of PL experience. In essence he was another Madueke gambit, a squad player bought for around 30-40m who gets sold with a premium (in this case, being English + PL experience).
I don't really hold any enmity for Garnacho, because what everyone said would happen did happen. The limited player performed exactly within his limitations, I can't blame him for that. It was Chelsea who decided to knowingly sign him.
Actions have consequences - unless you're a sporting director at Chelsea, I suppose.

WhiteWall reacted to Zeta in Kendry PaezWe're a football club, not a nursery. How many kids who dream of playing for the club, who'd give anything to see that dream achieved, are tossed out of the academy spaces because they're not quite good enough? Why give special treatment to someone who can't even knuckle down and take things seriously?
