  1. Exactly this ..... There were mixed feelings on Maresca's tactics at Leicester. We all knew what he was trying to do, the players bought into it and it worked most of the time. However, because some of our players weren't good enough to play like that against the better teams, on occasion it led to too much tippy tappy football in defence with mistakes leading to goals against, together with very slow tedious build up in attack leading to nothing. It felt like there wasn't a plan B to change things mid game but TBF it was probably due to not having the right players to bring on. We definitely need a rebuild. From what I've seen of your games it looks like he does have tactical flexibility now he has a wealth of players to choose from. Yep, he got us up which was what mattered but wouldn't have been able to strengthen the team sufficiently to make it work for us in the Prem. Good luck to him though, it looks like he is going to be a top manager. With regards to KDH, he was born and bred in Leicestershire, about 3 miles from where I grew up. He came through our academy and is a Fox through and through really, I think he would have been happy to stay with us but the Financial Unfair Play rules mean that smaller clubs like us have to sell our best home grown talent to balance the books. He may not have the silky skills of some of your other options but he will always put a shift in and will always give 100%. I'm sure he'll develop with better players around him and will do a good job for you, probably mostly in your games in Europe where you need a battler in midfield. Look after him please, all true Foxes will wish him well on his big break, just like we always respected the amazing Kante who worked his socks off for us right to the end (and unlike Fofana who pretty much downed tools to force his move through - no respect due there I'm afraid) Many of us have concerns about Nistelroy with his lack of Prem in management experience but it isn't working out too shoddy for Maresca and at least he has something to prove & should command respect with players and fans. Unlike Cooper who I do feel a bit sorry for but was always going to have a struggle to convince a big part of our fan base due to his Forest connections (something that didn't really bother those of us who can remember the success we had with Martin O'Neill and Captain Morgan, both ex Forest). Good luck in your quest for top 4, looking good so far. Look after our KDH 👍
  2. LOL .....Looks like it's all coming up roses for you guys so far eh?? We did say he'd probably come good with a bit more money and talent at his disposal than we could afford. He got us back up so no hard feelings on our part, we are accustomed to being used as a stepping stone so we knew he would be off at some point. Not so rosy for us, not been in the bottom 3 yet but major improvement needed and gonna be a struggle to stay up. Defence is woeful. We'll see what Van Man can do 🤞
  3. I've no idea who Bob is but he definitely seems to know more about the Foxes than this pretender who doesn't seem to know that Albrighton was a loyal servant to Leicester for a decade.
  4. IMHO Bob is speaking alot more sense than this guy who is either a very hyper negative fox or just one of the sad trolls from our forum looking for attention. No true Fox would diss Albrighton who's been amazing for us. Yes we are fearing the worse in an immediate return downstairs but most Foxes fans I know are upbeat about the coming season. It will be tough but we still have that fighting spirit and togetherness that got us that unbelievable title win, albeit fading into history now. We still need a few additions and we won't fighting for Europe just yet but we will stay up. Mixed feelings Maresca, he got the team working well to his system but the lack of flexibility to change things when teams found us out nearly lost us promotion. But, obviously talented as a coach and, with more funds at his disposal at your place he may well shine. Be an interesting season for both of us.
  5. Looks like we might end up with Potter. You can see it now can't you...... First game of the season Leicester Vs Chelsea. There'll be a record number of passes but neither team will manage to get out of their own half. Xg will be in the minuses and the snores from the stands will be deafening 😂😂
  6. Actually, I've just read that you are retaining your own existing set piece coach... A wise move 😂
  7. I wouldn't hold your breath, although we managed to stem the flow of goals conceded from corners in our relegation season, our set piece stats were still appalling in the championship. Only 9 goals scored from SPs, 15th in the championship (probably because we lost Madders) and 11 goals conceded, 11th in the championship, behind the likes of Huddersfield 😱 Anyway, looks like it's a done deal now, just waiting for the formal announcements. TBF I do think Maresca will be a top manager in time, not sure that he is ready for a top job yet but we'll see. Good luck folks.😉 We will definitely need a shed (scuse the pun) load of luck to stay up this season with our impending points deduction and restrictions on transfers.🤞 See you in the Prem in the summer. Visiting Fox signing off
  8. What about...... Poundland Pep, Poundland Pep Poundland Pep and his tippy tap crap Only joking, just a bit of sour grapes 😂 not at losing Enzo, just his lack of loyalty (I know, a short commodity in football) Seriously tho, I was a bit of a fan of Enzo at the start but the period after Feb when teams had sussed us out and we gave a 15 point lead away was horrendous.... Still playing tippy tappy even though we had wingers with pace. It took a players meeting without Enzo to get it sorted but it was touch and go. That's why there's no huge outcry with the Foxes fanbase at Enzo leaving. With our impending points deduction and restrictions on transfers, we would be fried in the Prem with Enzo. As a few of your guys have said, you should have the quality to make Maresca's tactics work .....and hopefully you won't be bored out of your minds ..... But don't expect any plan B, there just isn't one.
  9. Has there been any formal announcements at your end on the signing of Poundland Pep? 😂
  10. Hi, Visiting Leicester Fan here. I've been interested to see the views you guys have on Maresca becoming your new Manager on another thread. Very much mixed views at our end .... even we weren't sure how he'd fare in the Prem! Yes, he got the team back together again after the shambles of relegation and yes we were flying in the first half of the season in the Championship but many of us found ourselves bored to the back teeth with the style of play and screaming at the players to get forward. We thought Rogers was the King of Tippy Tappy but then Enzo stepped in to take his crown! Yes he got us promoted ... just, after a disastrous run of form in the latter stages ... so we are grateful but we took a risk on the guy ourselves and would have expected a little more loyalty .... a rare commodity in football I know. I think it says it all that, rather than alarm and complete panic at losing a manager that got us promotion, the overriding emotion is just mild disappointment smattered with a bit of irritation. I personally liked Maresca in the most part and would have liked to see how he got on in the Prem with us. However, his stubborn insistence on playing one way, with no obvious Plan B in matches where it obviously wasn't working (particularly in the later part of the season when more astute managers had sussed us out) , together with his seeming inability to make the right substitutions were testing even the most ardent believers of EnzoBall. Good luck folks, you've made some good 'smash & grabs' from us in the past ...... N'Golo being the pinnacle and a fantastic player who'll always be loved in Leicester ..... but somehow I think this one might not have the same effect. Prepare to be bored out of your brains!!
