Hi Angus, thanks for spending the time to come on here and assist. I just need a recommendation for where to stay. I've seen one called Hotel Praga, which is apparently a five minute walk from the stadium and is only 107 Euros in total for two nights. Am I better off with this or do you recommend staying nearer to the centre of Madrid? Thanks

Pat Nevin for me. I know he wanted first division football, and we needed the money (under £1m!), and we still won the 2nd division the following season, but it was a much more workmanlike side without him and it took us years to replace him properly.

This reminds me a bit of when we signed Deschamps (I'm not saying they are alike as players, just his age, experience, etc). In those days we needed a DD to add World/European class to the midfield (even if it was for just one year), but we are a very different club now, and should be looking to the future. For me, it all depends on the cost. If he was going free, then I'd be all for it, but with a large transfer fee (as looks likely) I personally don't think it's a gamble worth taking.

Hello Everyone. Shed End ST holder, just joined this site. I'm 36 years old, originally from Bedford, but moved to Wiltshire 8 years ago. First game was Cambridge Away in 1981 (Lost 0-1) and have been attending The Bridge regularly since then. Looking forward to spending time on here...
