What kind of a contract runs out literally mid-way through a Thursday in November? There was no way that Wilkins could have been given advance notice? He had to be given a telephone call out of the blue to tell him to pack up his things and leave immediately?

The guy is a Chelsea legend, and that is reason enough for him not to be treated like a worthless git. If the Club wanted to end his contract, they could have done it in a less radical and 'in your face' manner (a phonecall at half-time of a RESERVES match?!!).

I might add that I thought Bane gave a MOTM performance there. Absolutely delighted with the fella' - he's looking to become a starting 11 player in the near future.
