Oh please, more excuses. He played against Villa then doesn't play one minute for the next two games? What would have happened if Mata was left out against Utd late last year when Rafa was in charge? (A game Mata won by the way) people would have started petitions.

I know it's hard for some people to see, but Jose does make mistakes. Not playing our best player against two really good teams is a mistake. But I'm sure juan will get to play when Cardiff and crystal palace are in town. Maye even in a weak fa cup game.

Basically 20 goals and 30 assists. Putting that on the bench vs Man Utd and Bayern? That's a joke, I don't care what style you want to play. That's like Utd leaving RVP on the bench.

We are going to win more games when Hazard and Mata get the ball in an advanced position not hoofing the ball out from our own box.

We do have a great manager, but his style doesn't fit the team. Like I said, we have spent 2+ years buying players that keep possession and attack. Now Jose wants us to sit back.

That is why Oscar or KDB should be playing in Lampards spot with Mata in the 10 role. But then we would actually need to attack and keep possession.

It's hard to dominate possession when we sit back and defend the whole game. Doesn't logo good for Mata then. Anytime we play any team with some quality, our best player will be on the bench.

I'm not moaning about the loss. I'm moaning about the fact that we have played two really good teams so far and, even though we have great attacking talent, we sit back and take it from the opposing team. We are a pretty damn good team. Why are we not attacking team. We have Hazard, Oscar, Fricken Juan Mata, and we sit back?

I didn't see Bayern sitting back and they weren't playing stoke either. Why do we have to sit back when playing a good team but the other team doesn't? What does that say about us? It says that we have all this attacking talent and we either put it on the bench or we don't use it properly.

The notion that he is even close to Mata is a joke. Mata should be in the 10 role. End of story. Oscar is mush more suited for the Lampard role.

This style of counter attaking is such a joke. We are not fricken Stoke or west ham. We don't need to sit back and take wave after wave from the other team. Hazard, who is a great player when he can attack, is wasted because he always has to sit back. The one time he got the ball in an advanced role today he scored. We have spent two years assemblingna squad with flair and technical ability and now we are playing a style that doesnt suit the players. W the opposing keeper is standing at the midline with no fear of getting beat back, thats a problem. yes we were seconds away from winning but that goal was coming with the way we just kept sending back to Bayern. And I am sorry but I just don't get the thinking that Oscar is better in the 10 role than Mata. Mata is miles ahead of him technically and he doesn't lose the ball as much. Oscar should be playing deeper in Lampards spot. Jose has not made the right decisions so far and it may cost us our best player. If I were Juan I would seriously be thinking about getting out because this is not how you treat a teams best player.

Why would I apply for a job that has an average shelf life of about a year? Doesnt seem like a good career move...:)

Even Jose has said not to think about what he did the first time he was here. Stop living in the past. What he did should not matter when it comes to what he does now.

Probably the worst argument ever. Spain has Xavi, Iniesta, etc in front of Juan. Juan isnt spains best player. Juan is our best player. He has proved that over the last two years. Try again...

Gotta say I think Jose is getting wrong so far not picking Mata and Lukaku. And putting Lampard, who hasn't been good since the first game.

No Mata again, and Lampard starting again! What a fricken joke! And we get to watch Torres make some good runs and then fall over the ball some more.

Maybe this has been posted, but are Spurs close to signing Eriksen from Ajax? Would be another good signing for them.

I am one that thought AVB was done wrong here. He needed time. Don't get me wrong I love that Jose is back. I am pumped but I think AVB could have done well here. He seems to be building the Spuds squad the way he wants and he has time/less pressure there. I really think they will finish top 4 ahead of arsenal this year. My concern about Chelsea is that we spent a couple years buying players based on an attractive, attacking style and now Jose is here and we all know his style. I wonder how many players will slowly get the boot? It may take some time, especially with young players, to be a real force.

I just feel like we have assembled AVB's team with the style of players that he likes. Now Jose is back and that style/players don't really meet his eye. (Van ginkel aside, he seemed to be a Jose signing)

Had a buddy of mine (Spuds fan) tell me that most of out "new guys" this year were AVB targets when he was here. I believe Lukaku and KDB were signed when he was here. Willian and Schurrle we linked to Chelsea while he was here. Just wondering if this is somewhat true?

I don't think where Mata plays is going to be an issue. He always gets himself into the right spot. He is going to cutting inside from the left to get more central anway. Also, those three midfielders are always interchanging that Mata will find himself in the middle plenty. Just look at how Oscar tends to drop back to get the ball. Mata and Hazard would find themselves in the middle if they need to be there.
