  1. Lol, benayoun or aguero...hmmm..not sure which one to go for???
  2. Wow..Just the type of players we need! I would happily spend the next five years without any transfers £25mil £20mil £25mil (think we've lost him to city) £30/35 mil =105mil over five years (21 mil per year)! Not too bad considering we might have one or two future world player of the year in our hands! ;)
  3. sneijder cuz he would really provide that killer pass we so desperately need in matches where we have to try and break defences down!
  4. daily mail now says they've agreed £29 mil (with santa cruz going the other way) but he'll be on 80k which is really unlke city!
  5. Wow, never thought i would say this but Mikstaw I agree with you on this one! Watched a few dutch league games (while following stoch at twente :( ). He did score a lot of goals but wasnt impressed with his all round performance- would never retreive a ball after losing it and stuff). The wc has so far showed exactly that and he was outshone by forlan who would drop back to pick the ball up when his team was chasing the ball in games! Anyways, if i remember correctly he came out with quotes along the lines of 'no chelsea for me, would rather play for barca...' a few months ago in january transfer window. By the looks of it, he would struggle to make even barca reserves! :D
  6. exactly, thats even better! As I said in my previous post (read the whole post ;)) , its really upto the player not the club! Look at arsenal n fabreags, ronaldo n manu. If the right offer comes along, they will sell..I lost count of the times manu denied they were going to sell ronaldo last year and look what happened. Now some idiot is going to come along and flame me for apparently saying we should buy him for £80 mil! :)
  7. Just dont get these people who judge a player by ONE game!! Gimme a break...iniesta never played for spain against Honduras, that doesnt mean navas is better than him! -_- Ask anyone who followed laliga last season and they'll tell you that this is the type of player we really miss! A no.10 as you might call it..
  8. Good news, this is what his agent has come out & said today: But the 24-year-old's agent Julio Llorente has made it clear that any move to City is purely hypothetical at the moment. Llorente said: `We won't know where he is going this week because we're weighing up offers from three clubs and one of them is Chelsea. If Silva doesn't want to go (to City), the transfer isn't possible.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1289024/Chelsea-poised-hijack-Manchester-City-deal-29m-rated-Valencia-forward-David-Silva.html?ito=feeds-newsxml#ixzz0rjBjWnIV Looks like valencia might have got this city thing going in order to get a bidding war going! As much as I want him, really hope we dont end up paying over the odds (no more than £25 mil which is his release clause)
  9. calm down guys, if i remember correctly athletico said roughly the same stuff torres moved: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=422439&cc=5739 Its really upto the players nowadays, if he really wants it he'll force it through! Besides, aguero has already come out and said it would be 'a pleasure to learn from lampard, drogba' and he isnt exactly big fan of athletico like torres was so alls not lost ;) Lets wait and see what happens when windows officially opens! :)
  10. like i said benayoun is the cheap man's silva. lol (and people thought I was the one assuming benayoun is our 'marquee' signing! -_- ) I wouldn't count too much on kakuta next season, i still think carlo might wait another year to beef him up before he unleashes him but i hope im wrong! Though I have to admit I am glad we've stopped giving in to player demands e.g. j.cole! (Gutted this didnt happen when terry and lampard held us for 160k p/week over five year contracts  ) On a sidenote, really surprised no one has mentioned terry blasting the club over j.cole saga! (and no its not some fantasy journalism, he said it during the press conference on air)
  11. God!! Its the same thing all over again...no ones pissed off at anyone! Its just that we feel this is the perfect time to go on and win the champions league with just that extra push from a couple of new legs! Man united cant buy (long live the glazers), arsenal will always be a selling club (they get one star player whose got that extra spark to him and off he goes to another club), inter (one word-benitez), milan (they would win the cl if every match lasted 45 mins), bayern (surely their luck has run out) so that leaves us with barca (minus ovrebo) and madrid(i expect them to leak goals next season before jose drills defence into them like he did at inter)! Ever noticed we always lose to the eventual winner of the ucl; we need that extra push and face it, you cant expect to get one of the best young players (who are currently proving their worth at the highest stage) for a penny! If milner is worth £25/30 mil, silva for £26 mil would have been a bargain! Lets just wait and see what happens in a weeks time when the windows actually starts ;)
  12. No text speak in the above post :D
  13. Finally someone who gets me!!! The one thing people tend to forget is the fact that we won last title by ONE (yes ONE ) point; to put into perspective, one red card (malouda in portsmouth game anyone) or one correct offisde decision (manu  ) could have ruined the whole season! I know we scored a record number of goals, but you have to realise that our players (im worried about lampard and drogba in particular, they've got two season at most at the highest level left in them) are aging and that we have to replace them- imagine drogba and lampard having a season where we dont get 50 goals from them, who will step up? Anelka (31), malouda (30), essien (with his injury ravaged season). You simply can not expect our promising young players to fill in and carry the team like drogba and lampard have done! As far as the uefa financial fair play rule is concerned, i am sure all the big clubs will find ways round them. Who on earth would watch ucl without manutd, chelsea, inter, even madrid (cuz of their outstadning loans with rising interest rates)? Besides, we havent fired anyone this season so that another extra £15 mil plus £25 mil from (title win last season) in the bag! From what i understand, for the first three years (starting 2013, three years away) clubs will be allowed £20mil loss spread over the three seasons or something like that!
  14. now thats a rectum-derived answer
  15. thnx spiller, i think i will try holding back till we actually sign someone...
  16. That doesnt even make sense virosh! tbh i've found ur replies quite demeaning and patronising over the two weeks since i joined, just cuz u dont agree with someone doesnt give you the right to insult m8... As for u guys, it'll be interesting to see what u think halfway through this season when we are struggling to come second, let alone first! But I really do hope for the clubs sake, we start finding replacements for lampard and drogba (hence my rant about aguero n silva) cuz we all want whats best for chelsea! Heck, it doesnt even matter what we think, we'll alway sign players who roman (yes, NOT carlo) wants and i guess deep down we all know it :) btw stride, to say most of us would want epl over ucl isnt exaclty true. I know that we've been cheated out of it before (and all the platini crap) but to establish as one of the europe's elite, a club has to win the ucl and roman knows it (moratti fired mancine despite domestic success at inter cuz they wanted ucl after going so many years without it). Besides, financially epl is nothing comapred to all the marketing and tv revenue generated by ucl (inter got roughly £53 mil from ucl alone this yr compared to our £16 mil from epl)...
  17. ever heard of ' the more sugar-the sweeter'! Say we spend £50 mil on aguero n silva and win cl in the next two yrs taking 50mil+ in prize money (manu got £43 mil back in 2008 so its obviously more than that) and with the added attraction of playing for the best in europe for players, i think thats a pretty good return! Real have apparently recouped more than the £80 mil in shirt sales alone from ronaldo...(i know we dont have the real or barca status but thing is u have to aim higher to be the best). If we keep signing benayouns, we'll never win the cl and will keep playing catchup and always aspire to have the real or barca status!
  18. Can u atleast read my reply m8
  19. Well he is on £160k which is totally out of the question, but as he pointed out in his quotes a few days ago, he would have been guaranteed trophies and cl which city cant offer; im sure had we tried, we could have signed him for £120 0r 130k! Benayoun on 80k (with two more years at the top level with no resale value *taking his transfer value into account*) or silva on 130k with the chance to definitely add flair and youth to our team (with the chance for him to become the next xavi or fabregas and his value to double), I know which one i'd prefer!
  20. Dont be surprised if we get linked to the player again in a couple of years time once he becomes the next xavi for a ridiculous £65mil And Im definitely not expectly aguero now, we might see inzhagi though at the bridge instead of aguero!
  21. Feck!!!!! Looks like we fecked up yet again  The guy wanted to play for us and basically issued a come n get me plea... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1288427/Manchester-City-beat-Chelsea-race-sign-29m-Valencia-forward-David-Silva.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Mark my words, if we dont sign any quality players, we wont win anything next season with this aging suqad (i know we have really talented young players but u cant expect them to carry us through the season like drogba or lampard). City are strenghtening and will be serious title contenders in two years if not next year (once they get into cl). I just dont get why we have to go after players who've made their name at the biggest stage like ribery n torres with ridiculous price tags unlike potential future world players of the year such as aguero or silva! For the time being, we have to settle with poor man's silva - Benayoun!!
