Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Lump Danny together with Torres why don't cha, especially after he got injured Monday and must've been devastated when he probably felt he would be getting a his first start in a major game up top against Juve /rant

Your tip for next manager...
I remember when he lost Xabi and wanted to sign Barry as his replacement and than moaned about not getting him. He has had about 3 good transfers while at Liverpool, two of which were no brainers Alonso; Mascherano; His time at Inter the year after they won the Treble was absolutely pathetic

- Your tip for next manager...
f**king Rafa might as well make Torres player/manager - we get a few good results he benches himself at some point and Roman fires him- Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
Torres for Player/Manager, at least we can be sure that Roman won't sack him He will play 90 minutes in all our matches anyway, if we sign the spanish waiter.- Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
****ing disgraceful board - people who advice Roman and decided not sign up a striker and loan out 10 players should be the ones who are sacked.- Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
I'm shocked... Feel so bad for Robbie, he did not deserve this. I bet this decision wasn't even made after last night's match - that was Robbie's last throw of the dice and our players "responded" really well.- Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Who cares about Torres - just lock up this thread. Even if Jesus Christ descends from the heavens and performs and exorcism Torres would still not be good enough - and that fat waiter better stay the f**k away .- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
"Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing and expecting a different result." After recent results I can't blame RdM for trying something new - I personally feel we would have lost this game whatever lineup he tried because we cannot address the problems with defenders being exposed and attackers not finishing off their chances. I think a lot of it stems from over use of Hazard and Mata which is degenerating their effectiveness. A lot of people have been spoiled by Lampards longevity and consistency they expect flair players to also be able to play 90 minutes every game with the same effect. Just recall Robben and how often he was out of the side due to injuries - the way especially Hazard plays takes a great toll on his body. Especially today as the match went on Mata and Hazard were not able to keep up the press and trickery. Marin; Moses need to be rotated with those two with greater effect if we want to use them in their most devastating form in matches like the ones against Juve. Loaning KdB; Essien; Lukaku etc also took away from the possible options in rotation.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Roman your biggest signing this winter might be a big bonus to Donetsk players if they beat Juve! Go talk with whatever oligarch is in charge of them.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Those four games were our most important ones- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
WHOEVER GAVE THE GO AHEAD TO LET GO OF THE MAN ABOVE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE AND SHOULD FEEL BAD! Well, at least we can be the first team to win the CL and Europa Cup back to back in reverse order- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Instinctive finishing something we've been lacking- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Cech needs to stop pumping balls forward....- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
-------------Cech----------- -----Ivanovic------Cahill------ Cesar---------Luiz--------Cole --------Mikel------Ramires---- -------------Oscar----------- ------Hazard-------Mata----- Should be interesting, not quite sure how we will line up.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Yeah I mean it must be very difficult to play as a striker in front of Oscar; Mata and Hazard- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT

There is another consideration when comparing Torres and Sturridge. How often they get dispossessed when we are attacking. In the limited time Sturridge has played he gets dispossessed on average 1.3 times per match(due to loosing the ball to a defender or misplacing a pass leading to a turn over); Torres gives away possession on average 5.9 times per match. Also Torres is the player in the team with the lowest passing percentage at 70.1% on average. Sturridge in his two full games is 89% against United in the Capital One Cup(20 more passes than Welbeck* or Hernandez) and 85% against WBA(a game in which he made more passes than Moses and Torres). This shows that despite the tag of a greedy player who never passes - statistically you are off the mark. Just a very bad decision maker sometimes. *Welbeck did come off at the 98th minute but he was still at 30 total passes compared to Sturridge's 56- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
I'd put cash on Hazard. But I'd prefer he is on the flank and able to stay in midfield rather than be close to Chiellini, since we will miss his passing and ability to make more defenders pulled towards the flank leaving space centrally.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
What's the point of tracking back if there is no one in front of the box when we counter attack? We need our striker to be able to actually accelerate our attack as we transition from defense rather than slow it down with clumsy touches and poor movement.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
Moses's finishing is actually worse, there is a reason he was not played up top for Wigan and they preferred Di Santo there. In a few years playing for Wigan his highest tally is 6 goals despite playing 26 matches 2010/2011 and 38 matches last year. His heading ability is obviously top notch but we don't play with that many pinpoint crosses. I'd take Hazard up top ahead of Moses. He actually scored 22 goals last season for Lille. But if Sturridge is fit he should start this match, Hazard is too involved in how we transition into attack and too valuable to isolate up top.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
I find that kinda besides the point, Moses had more wild shots against West Brom yet I've not heard anyone dish out the same criticism about him. Danny had one in the 3rd minute - the shot where some people are calling for him to pass to Mata is from a position where 9 out of 10 strikers in the League would shoot from in fact Moses had the very same type of shot in the same game as Sturridge where Sturridge was the one at the far post.- Juventus v Chelsea (CL) 20/11/2012 KO 19:45 GMT
We are devaluing our "star" striker? We should put out our strongest eleven and right now that doesn't include either Torres or Luiz so come off it. - Your tip for next manager...
