  1. Should I take my boots with me to St Andrews ? Just in case...........
  2. Welcome fellow newbie ! Carefree, wherever you may be.........
  3. At a slight tangent from this topic I feel I must applaud the Premier League (or was it the Football League) who recently met and concluded that both Glascow clubs will have no place in the English leagues, both now and in the future. Can you imagine that banner being shown at a home game to an English club, or even at an away game should they have been allowed to join ?
  4. I went to Germany in '83 so it must have been earlier. '82 perhaps. We def got beat - real sh*t day
  5. yes Hutch, I'm sure mate. Just shows what they were like doesn't it ? I'll always remember a Chelsea fan being led down the side of the pitch by the old bill after being turfed out of the home end. With ripped coat and shirt he started zigger zagger like he didn't have a care in the world !
  6. Cambridge Utd ! I remember coming out of their ground in the early 80's after a 1-0 defeat in the old Division Two. Turn left from the away end, walk through a park with Police escort, and then all converge at a choke point to go under a railway bridge - cue Utd morons to throw bottles and bricks OVER the bridge to rain down on us. That was scary - but the ground was pants. But then we lost ..........
  7. Hello all ! Thought it was about time I joined a fans forum - so here I am ! Born in West London in the sixties - been a Chelsea man all my life. They are the only constant thing in my life. Wives come and go, friends come and go, but my team is always with me. Look forward to conversing with you fine people. Oh, btw, who knows where I can get a friendly pint in Birmingham before the match in a fortnight ? Thanks PorkpieBlue
  8. I was worried today as soon as I saw our midfield - no bite at all. Everything else looked out of place because of it. Still, it's tough at the top. and we're still there. And one other point which isn't directly linked to our performance, but am I the only one who thinks Andy Gray (Sky Sports) talks an absolute load of sh*te ? He's got the best job in the world and all he can do is talk drivel.
  9. My first game at the Bridge was v Charlton in '77 or '78 in the old Division 2. We won - 3-0 if memory serves me correctly, and Ian Britton scored two penalties I think ! My mate and I stood in the Shed - fantastic stuff. And the bonus was that the TV cameras were there so we were able to watch all the goals again the following day on The Big Match with Brian Moore. :D
  10. I remember listening on the radio whilst in Germany (Forces) to Chelsea going 3-0 down at half-time to Sheff Wed in, what was then, the Milk Cup in 1984. I had a really sh*te signal (sport then was broadcast on Radio 2) and we came back to lead 3-4 ! Talk about jumping up and down ! They equalised with a late penalty, but the emotions of it all will stay with me for ever !
