mad_mac Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Not trying to start any sectarian stuff here, but a mate of mine (suprisingly a Rangers fan, and earns her majesty's coini) just wrote this: "I'm outraged that CFC (a scottish football club) is refusing to sell poppy's this year coz it might insult their irish fans.shower of ba*tards! to think that the people in this country had family who fought and died in the wars so we could have the freedom to live our lives the way we do today and do great things like eh..play football. fu**ers.maybe they should jump on the stena line and return to where they came from" I seem to remember their fans refusing to acknowledge minute silence's before. I had family fight in both wars, so I can't say I'm best pleased about this.
BlueBeard Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Can't say that this surprises me, they're a shower of total c*nts, always have been always will be
Mod Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Edit: Celtic deny poppies reportsCeltic have totally denied stories that they have banned the selling of poppies at Celtic Park. A statement released on the club's official website said: "Celtic Football Club has a great relationship with Poppy Scotland. We have made financial donations to the charity and we have been delighted to support the charity's activities in previous years, this year and beyond." Meanwhile, Fraser Bedwell of Poppy Scotland added: "Celtic Football Club have been, and continue to be great supporters of Poppyscotland and the Scottish Poppy Appeal. "The Club will again this year participate in an SPL-wide initiative when all 12 clubs will wear a poppy on their playing shirts for the matches on remembrance weekend (13th/14th November). "In addition, Celtic have kindly offered to donate these shirts to Poppyscotland and we plan to auction them after the match to raise funds for the appeal." BlueBeard Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Whether that is true or not (which I doubt), they're still a shower of c*nts and always will be.
bluegraham Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 might surprize you guys ut i hate celtic but im a very strong catholic. as for the poppies just sad from celtics point of view.
loz Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Celtic never banned poppy sellers as the follow up article confirms. It was a rumour that appeared on the internet a couple of weeks ago and the bigots in the Rangers camp (who are no better or worse that the bigots in the Celtic camp) turned it from rumour to gospel in a matter of minutes and used it to claim that Celtic as a club, and every one of their fans, hates the British, wants all its armed forced dead blah blah blah. Meanwhile they use pictures of King Billy on their facebook profiles utterly ignorant to any of the history. Lobotomies for the morons in both camps wouldn't be a bad thing!

Lobotomies for the morons in both camps wouldn't be a bad thing! Exactly! I remember Celtic fans not respecting the minutes silence last year. Utterly disgusting. I'd be quite happy if Rangers and Celtic and the more brain dead  fans were wiped off the planet. Vast majority that I have came across are bitter dullards. We have talked about this before and doesnt represent all fans. But there are so many brain dead c**ts that follow them just because they are bitter against 'the other side'. It's nt even a good footballing rivalry anymore as both teams are completely sh*te. Edited November 6, 2010 by Zola
Tim W Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 "Celtic Football Club has a great relationship with Poppy Scotland. Does this mean Poppy has been cheating on me, what's Jeremy's number?
Aesthetic Relic Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 On show today courtesy of "The Green Brigade"....truely disgusting.
TheWestwayWonder Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Their politicization of issues that are so much deeper than football are not only pathetic, theyre insulting to these people whose grief they are trying to appropriate. Its football you sad bar stewards, the poppy has nothing to do with the politics. Spare a thought for all the scared 18 year olds who died in agony, frightened and alone in some muddy field in Belgium and then have a think about the shame you feel living in the world that their deaths helped to bring about. Its infuriating, and I dont know how people form the UK deal with it. Its fine to have openness and discuss the validity of a conflict, we in the US reexamine our history all the time, but the rule of thumb for dissenters is "support the soldier, not the war"
Tim W Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 If you can't get a poppy buy "2 Minute Silence" I tunes, there's no excuse

clubhappy Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Gives decent Irish people a bad name . I was working last night and saw a guy wearing a poppy , turned out he was from England and over for a reunion with friends. There wasn't one bad word or remark thrown his way . If any Irish people feel offended by a poppy then its a sad time for this country but there are still the usual utter scum weekend pub provos who cant accept that Irish people dont give a flying f**k about their bitterness towards Britain. I f***ing hate these people and 99% of Irish people feel the same.
Tea Bar Boy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 It's all over the media this morning I see... Is this picture for real or a Rangers photshop special ? There must be 1000’s of Celtic fan’s who have died in many conflicts turning in their grave at that ??????
Hutch Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Is this picture for real or a Rangers photshop special ? There must be 1000’s of Celtic fan’s who have died in many conflicts turning in their grave at that ?????? Sadly it's all too real. Celtic have issued an apology: Celtic have issued an apology and begun an investigation after supporters at Parkhead produced a huge banner describing the remembrance poppy as 'bloodstained.`The club have already agreed to wear poppies on their shirts at St Mirren on Remembrance Sunday, which has caused fury amongst a section of the club`s fans. "The actions of this small minority have no place at Celtic Park. We are currently investigating the matter and, clearly, we apologise for any offence caused," said a statement released by the club. dkw Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Jesus thats disgraceful and sickening. The idiots involved should be banned for a long time.
Tea Bar Boy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Sadly it's all too real. Celtic have issued an apology: LINK Unreal !! That must make a Celtic fan serving in Afghanstan feel good this morning seeing that ...................... or for that matter his old man at the game . Small Minority ??? That's half a f*cking stand Edited November 8, 2010 by Tea Bar Boy
loz Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 It isn't half a stand Tea Bar - it was a specific group of extremists cretins who planned it and made sure they were all seated together so they could hold it up. Maybe 90 or 100 people well placed around the stand. Not fit for hanging the lot of them.

dkw Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The most ridiculous thing about this is if you asked the average Celtic or Rangers fan about their hatred and bigotry and the reasons behind it I bet most wouldnt have a clue. They use it as a weapon in football rivalry which is just so ridiculous.
BluesBrother Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The Green Brigade constantly hold IRA karaoke and banner fests with little reaction from the media or authorities until now, Celtic deal with them week in and out so know who's responsible for the display. On a seperate note it's irratating how Rangers have to be brought into this mess, it has absolutely nothing to do with Rangers.
loz Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Thing is Bluesbrother Rangers get brought into this because Rangers fans, just as Celtic fans do, look to jump on any story they can use to abuse the other. Now the banner stuff is factual and hence it is a story however the poppy sellers being banned from Celtic Park was never factual but Rangers fans loved spreading it around the internet as if it was gospel. Personally I think it is a shame that both clubs can't shake off the idiot mentality. In all my years living in the West of Scotland I can hand on my heart say that they majority of fans from both sides are not intellectual inbreds however the impression that the rest of the country has is created entirely by the moronic minority.
