Haven't heard about the Palace involvement. I know Orient were jumping up and down about it being against Premiership rules (or something along those lines) but doubt that's the reason it's been delayed. Probably as simple as them not being able to agree a decision. I agree with you about Totnum - seems totally inappropriate, from whichever way you look at it. Can't see the Spammers fans liking it much either with a running track around the outside. I suppose they could have dog racing at half time or summat ;-)

Think you're probably right about Citeh, but the Arse seem to have a bit more steel to them this season. Hopefully not enough, but I wouldn't write them off.

Unless they've stripped it down to something far more basic it wiill still be full of bugs. There was no need to make it so complicated. It needed an instruction manual, which the users themselves ended up having to compile. Even then there were too many variables across platforms, browsers, screen resolutions etc. A total pile of shoite. Anyway, the political stuff behind it was going to ruin it. Jax should give someone the code for the old one and it could be set up independently elsewhere, away from the official sugary bland dumbed down site they want.

Yep, all good points. Can understand Orient being a bit pished off with it. A Premiership club (or Championship Club) on their doorstep receiving some sort of ground subsidy.

They were told well before its release. The Beta version had around 99% negative feedback. There was an agenda for change of culture from Brand Chelsea. It's not just another Chelsea forum, it's the official one. It really didn't fit the club image at all, but that's part of what made it.

Quite frankly, more embarrassing than any of the posters they were trying to control. Jax summed it all up with his "change of culture" post. Then there was the revelation that emails had been flying around between the mods and Jax to make it more mong friendly. FFS. A sad end to a sometimes superb site. Still beggars belief that it was released in that state on the official site. Was clearly unstable from Day1.

Thanks. Well. At the moment, the site is down for "maintenance". i.e. completely collapsed. Perillo said he liked the new forum format (but I suspect he was just trying to be different, as virtually no one else did). Avanti! is a site mod and toeing the party line. Sir Les seemed to give up on the new site after a couple of days, in disgust. You never know your luck ;-)

You are correct in many ways. Most regulars used it more when they were at "work", than at home so the situation of having to "scroll back a zillion posts" wasn't an issue. It was the live, "down the pub" nature of it, that made it unique. It wasn't geared for ongoing item discussion. You are also correct about the cliquey nature of it and the abuse to outsiders - though frequently justified. However, it was mostly "banter", although could be seen as harsh. It was more of an initiation. Giving a bit back normally did the trick. The caustic humour was part of its character. Looks like the thing has gone tits up this morning. If the old one didn't set a good impression for Brand Chelsea, this one doesn't even work, and should not have been released.

lol. Well, nowhere's perfect. Personally very disappointed with what's happening on the Official one. Bit hard to explain to people who didn't have an affinity with it. Seems like most people on here didn't like it. Anyway, love your pic ;-)

The official chat site was more like going down the pub. It had a unique format and some fantastic banter. Held together by the common interest of Chelsea FC but discussing every subject under the sun in a "live" environment. Unfortunately, it seems that there is a club driven agenda to clean it up, dumb it down and encourage new posters with high idiocy levels.

Jax has completely farked up the Official Chelsea Chat site with a hopelessly unuseable new version. Expect a lot of new registrations here.
