Liverpool have had a £30m offer for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll rejected, BBC Sport understands.

Newcastle insist the 22-year-old is not for sale and reportedly turned down an approach from Tottenham last week.

Carroll has scored 11 goals in 19 league games this season and made his full England debut in November's 2-1 defeat by France at Wembley.

Liverpool have agreed a £23m fee for Ajax striker Luis Suarez but could be set to sell Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

The rumours are laughable on deadline day. So and so has been seen at this training ground and someone else has left that training ground. I know 90% of the stuff is rubbish but still love it.

Heres another one though, apprently aguero is signing a new deal at athletico today and the press conference to announce it has been delayed.

Don't you just love transfer day! By 11pm tonight, there will be so much traffic coming into this site, it will be up and down like moi's knickers in the 70's!

Are you insinuating that my knickers have been stationary since the 70's? :shok:

Isn't Caroll still injured and seeing a specilalist? That smells like the Aquanli signing, hope it turned out like that for them! Suarez's record is amazing, but we have seen a few strikers come out of the Dutch league and faded (Huntler, Kazman)

And Alfonso Alves anyone?
