Can't remember what game it was but about 8 of us in a mini bus all skinheads decked out in the gear was traveling back though the country somewhere when we saw barn dance tonight, well we were all pissed up and decided to hit this barn dance,as it goes the natives cound not have been more friendly and welcomed us, and we had a blinding night with take your partners one two three and us skinheads stomping up and down all night before they waved us on our way.for some reason that has always stuck in my head.Surpised there's not more replies cause had some blinding away days where we always stopped off somewhere.

Your First Ever Chelsea Game...
Garry i think it was 70/71 1-0 win and keith weller got the goal,My first euro trip was with england,to luxembourg in 1977,you know i cant remember my first with Chelsea.Went up to middleboro for the play off game but missed the one at the bridge due to trouble with the mrs, started to slow down a bit at going then due to kids and all that, funny enough it wasn't till i went to Portugal for the euro's in 2004 that i got the bug back again and started to go again.Sadly to say Modern day football is again doing my head in.Might come to Sweden in Nov for the England game though if you fancy meeting up for a beer.

Your First Ever Chelsea Game...
I was born in Wandsworth so my whole family was Chelsea and my first memory is the fa cup final 1970,My uncle took me to my first game vs Newcastle 1971,stood on the old east stand terrace.Just watched it again on the vintage blues thread for the first time since the day i was there. After that it was my uncle again who took me to chelsea one week and Palace when chelsea were away.i can remember that but can;t remember the first game i went on my own or with mates, although i do know it was around 1974/75 aged 14.Also remember my first away game with a couple of older mates away to Sunderland 75 or 76 aged about 15,i had worked out the train times arriving back at kings cross at 10 0 clock, hour across london so told my mum and dad i was at a party and would be in at midnight, all was going to plan untill the train broke down 200 miles from london,st neaots or something like that, and everyone was running across fields, great fun,got home at 6 in the morning to a good kicking from my old man who knew exactly where i had been

[ No its a little side road where they used to (and still do ) park the away coaches, and not one of those houses are there now.Although i remember walking down that way as a kid on way to the ground and there was a goal painted on a large brick wall at the end of the road and that is still there today.

Before my time but what a great match and atmosphere, didnt know the score before hand which made watching even better, and now i can relate to the song,ie last verse. They came down to chelsea in 69,they filled up the north stand the shed and both sides, but chelsea were many, too many to ruck, and the great man utd got battered to f**k.

Bolton away 1977 2-2 draw report from manchester evening paper,Went with my dad to this and a couple of his friends and as chelsea took the bolton end,all the chelsea at the other end charged across the pitch to join them with bolton fans coming the other way.Can remember finding my mate asleep on a railway bridge after doing a bottle of whiskey and carried him into ground where he slept on the terrace the entire game, and a police horse standing on my dads foot and him nearly getting nicked after having a go at the copper, and being gutted that i coundnt charge across the pitch with the rest of the chelsea as i was with my dad . I once read some one say that after the Millwall game in 75/76 that the chelsea fans come of age after that game, what was very true, but west ham always seem to have the edge on us up till that game in the 80's,but yes i know what your saying Garry and your right.

Some time early 70's West Ham tried to take the shed game ended I think 1-1 but I certainly would not bet on that. West Ham lot just go pushed out there could not have been more than 30 of them. 74/75 season, its not how i remember it.I'm sure west ham took the shed with a big no man land in the middle,i remember being dragged down by the silk scarf on my wrists and took a few kicks,i was still only 13/14 at the time like a lot of the shed, and if i remember rightly it was the north stand over by the borvil side of the shed that restored some pride, the only thing i can't remember is if they stayed in there all game. There was certainly more than 30.Carshalton blue those paper cuttings you put up was in my opinion when the tide started to turn v west ham,up to then we had taken some pretty poor support over there,in my time of going anyway, but that day we actually turned up looking for it for the first time and it seem to me that the chelsea realised on that day that the icf wasn't invincable after all.

Garry the picture you put up on a earlier thread was taken in the 1972 season, first game of the season v Leeds which we won 4-0,it was also the first season without the east stand i think.I was at the game with my uncle and all the kids were at the front where you can see me long hair and dodgy fashion clothes.I have this match on dvd some-where will try and dig it out.One of the reason the flimsy fences went up was because of this game and the kids kept invading the pitch.I was 12 and love this picture. Some great games there again Eddie Mac,just not enough hours in the day to watch them all. Much prefer to watch these games than modern day football. Hearing all the old songs and the humour in some of them,i.e the Blackburn game and there is no Blackburn fans there and they score and the shed singing,"we're see you both outside.Gate 13 looking inpressive against Leeds in 82 and micky doing the ziggar zagger,he would have been in his element now watching these games.Talking about Gate 13 i get my years messed up,when did everyone start going in there and when did it become the family enclosure, and i was having a friendly row the other day when i said there was a time you could drink right though the game in the bar underneath and a friend insisted you cound'nt,was i right?.I don't know about the football being better but i love the way you could get stuck in in those days rather than some of the pussies of today,in the palace clip in 69 and the goalmouth scamble,Mel blyth the palace number 5 does Dave webb with a headbutt from behind and ossie goes after him trying to run his studs down his leg and headbutt him back, and i might be wrong but i don't think anyone was sent off.Another thing i liked about the old days was the expectation of how many chelsea would be at a away ground,3,000, 5'000, 7,000 nowadays you know exactly how many cause you have to buy so far in advance what spoils it again for me,bring back pay on the day ha ha.And Garry the bloke standing behind Cathy in your picture is called Giles, dont know his second name but cathy knows him quite well i think. Thanks again for the great memories, and sorry for the bold writing i will sort it for my next message.Wondered if there is any footage of Derby at the Baseball ground in 73 and the battle on the pitch

what great memories these games have brought back,Thanks to Carshalton blue for starting it and garry jones for alerting me to it,and of course to Eddie mac for all the great video's.My first ever match was v Newcastle 1970/71 aged 9 and stood on the old east stand terrace, which i have never seen again till now.Started to go on my own around 74/75,stood in the shed which is great to see in full flow on here.Didnt miss a home game from 1976 to the 80's,The Blackpool game made me laugh when the fans got on the pitch to chase a blackpool player and was just ushered back into the crowd by steve wicks, what would that be now,ten year ban and jail probably.Leeds away in 78 although we lost and the buses to the ground and then getting ambushed back at kings cross by west ham where my mate was stabbed,of course the 4-3 bolton game,Bristol away where our coach from Battersea never turned up so someone went and nicked a double decker red bus from Battersea bus station and 50 of us went up and back on that before dumping it back in Battersea, and millwall where i went with my dad as a 15 year old and was chased out the CBL end and ended up cheering millwall as they hunted down any chelsea fans in the other end.Well i could comment on most games,i knew Garry from our Chelsea days and Received tickets from him for the Bolton and Hull banned games, any chance of that game by the way. Thanks again for all the input on here,i look forward to more games amd more memories.

hi
Hello everyone, been a chelsea fan all my life.My first game was in 1971 v Newcastle a 1-0 win scored by Keith weller, started going on my own around 1975 when i attended my first away game at roker park(2-1 loss) ,the one when the train broke down on the way back but thats another story.Been to 60 odd grounds mostly old grounds and not the new stadiums, still follow Chelsea mostly home and abroad and have followed England since the late 70's.
