  1. that's not really true. the "really" is superfluous. they had been the best pairing in the league way before even abramovich arrived.
  2. not the best time for a poll then... no- laughable that people would stand by a player before him. although I have thought and still think this is his last season before goes abroad.
  3. yes, we will. I don't have much doubt about it really.
  4. while its always good to see loz and pauly continue to slide into the mid table anonymity the deserve, I must defend my side by saying that the league is not yet a clear reflection of the truth (that being, I am the king of the world) because gerrard and henry have not played their second round games yet.
  5. cheers. I have been thinking about making a couple of transfers and now I think I will. do you know whether those transfer points are carried over?
  6. bah. do you know where the points system is? (what are points gained for?)
  7. I agree, I mean those epl right sided midfielders are real bruisers and and plus also not to mention or of course, he may also face left sided players like duff, arca, giggs, etherington, andy "feckin" reid, mark gonzales and the power of robben in training. the only man he should fear is bolo blackbelt... he has the concentration of a true warrior.
  8. not that I'd ever boast, but look who'se shot to joint top after 80% of round 1? p.s. I hereby retire.
  9. and with that, I will reveal the team that will win this competition. ......................................robinson johnno..................terry.................campbell.........a.ferdinand gerrard................p.neville...........lamps....................kilbane ............................henry©...........davies bench: p.kenny (gk) helguson rommedahl rosenior sol campbell is ridiculously cheap.
  10. I never fail to be suprised at how good a side you put out yearly with all of those self imposed restrctions. just going in to check johnno's price I think.

I feel confident with that back 4, or I would if bridge had jose's confidence. in fact, if he was regularly playing then he probably would have his confidence so there would be no problem of course, if/when gallas goes buying a leftback won't be enough- we'd need a central defender too, or, someone who can play both positions (i.e. chivu)...
  12. that is something else I was thinking- call up ashton (good call) and drop beckham- hilarious!. although, I get the feeling it could well be gerrard from the right. but... yeah mcclaren is talking nonsense. he wants young players but can still call up neville and leave beckham out. but of course dribbling always wins. the fact that beckham did more in the world cup than lennon and swp have in their combined international careers means nothing when you can dribble.
  13. no, but his reaction has been impressive- the loss of security could be a good thing. I think his form will (again) be either the best or the second best of all the right sided players, and if so he deserves a place in the squad. however, it is finished for him with mcclaren, unless england start to monumentally f*ck up... which, given the skipper, and the weak group, won't happen. all the dribbling in the world counts for nothing if there is not something tangible at the end. now, the best england 4 man midfield is probably one with gerrard roaming from the right and a defensive player of some description- if we go this way I'd like to see johnno back in asap (to provide the width)... I think he will be back soon- too talented to not be in the squad. but... beckham, IMO, should be in the squad based on club form, and currently is still the best specialist right sided player we have. the combined international careers of swp and lennon so far have (to memory) produced the following: 1 assist (swp for cole), 1 goal (swp on his debut). beckham did more in the world cup (despite his admittedly poor form relative to his form going into the tournament). for me it's worth having him at least on the bench, once we've tired of the tricks and need a goal.
  14. you have increasingly little hair your scalp is feeling somewhat bare is there a toupe you could wear? as it's giving the children quite a scare By gullit4.
  15. you are forgetting their defence will consist of the following players: pascal cygan.
  16. no chance- he's a quality player. the answer to this poll is henry as far is I'm concerned- all the others have risks or some kind of doubt attached. henry guarantees 4 million goals against watford and charlton.
  17. When did I suggest otherwise?......... ... nowhere... except for your constant retorts listing his transfer his mistakes!
  18. that doesn't answer the question. is it hard for you to accept rainieri has left the chelsea side with a lot? p.s. I concur with liam.
  19. you'll lose this tedious cough fest qaz. he signed more good players than bad. so why waste your time?
  20. qaz wrote: here's another picture: frank sinatra himself would have been cheaper. p.s. whatever we pay for cole will doubtless be too much andprobably used to help arsenal more than cole helps us.
  21. and to prove that, here's a picture.

no, but not because of the fan base. stamford bridge is synonomous with chelsea. if a larger stadium led to price drops it would be filled easily, however I'm not quite sure it would.

zambrotta is right footed, however, he has played far more at leftback than on the right and would have done so for italy if they had a decent rightback (i.e. someone not named zaccardo)
