i would love to see this player at the bridge he really would make a huge impact on our team .. he is by far the best left back in the world for me ..... now carlos ...y slash out lots of wages on him when he is old and weathered .. he should have gone home for me at this stage of his carrier.. not still playing top flyte footy with us .. he is a legend yet we are the future and an ashley cole would be ideal..... icon_razz.gif

Ashley Cole has Arsenal written all over him.

Belongs in a dark room with Nigel Winterburn and the rest of the scowling, ugly, Robbie Savage Alan Smith loving contingent.

who wants to support that?

As for Carlos... The only positive thing it would bring is variety and options- it's always useful to have two different players for a position- ie. Duff/Robben, Bridge/R.Carlos, Essien/Cole (central fx.).

also.. if you can keep the ball he could be useful...

aside from that.. horror show!

bring back Le Saux!

Out of Cole and Roberto Carlos I would have to go for Cole. I am not a great fan of his plus Roberto Carlos must be 33 / 34 by now and definitely not worth whatever amount he would cost.

I would prefer to have Wayne Bridge though...........

zambrotta is right footed, however, he has played far more at leftback than on the right and would have done so for italy if they had a decent rightback (i.e. someone not named zaccardo)

Just heard on TalkSport that Ashley Cole and Roberto Carlos will be coming to Chelsea, with Del Horno heading back to Spain.......and Wayne Bridge going to Spuds icon_eek.gif

I just pray that TalkSport are talking out of their collective arses again - Bridge out, Carlos in - WTF!!!!!! And to Spuds of all teams!

You are having a laugh. There is no way that Bridge should have gone to Fulham on loan, let alone totally leave Chelsea. I saw him against Charlton in our one and only Carling Cup game last season and he looked pretty good for someone that had been off injured for months.

This is one thing that pisses me off with Jose - he dismissed Joe Cole for months and played Duff and Robben which annoyed me immensly, plus he pretty much encouraged Eidur to leave (I know people agree/disagree about Eidur) and has now - if these rumours are true - pushed Wayne Bridge out the door. Why?!

He is a brilliant player with great potential. He deserves to stay with a top premiership club, it would be an outrage if he went to those dirty Spurs. It just cannot happen. There is a distinct lack of talented English players and I think we should hold on to the ones that we have instead of maybe just buying 'names' for credability.

Not only is Ashley Cole Arsenal through and through, but he isn't fit to tie Zambrotta's boots.

Zambrotta also fits Mourinho's bill of having a bit of versatility. Can play either side and has pace to burn. Only unquestionably world class full back in the world for me right now.

Call me crazy and "too Italian" but I like my defenders to love defending. Zambrotta is great going forward but is outstanding at the back. Neither Cole nor Roberto Carlos fit that bill for me I'm afraid.

Lahm is exciting though.

Real Madrid just signed the best centre half in the world, it's time we bought the best full back in the world.

Get Zambrotta

We've sold Billy G to Real Madrid? When did this happen?

Humerous Loz.

Luckily for us, Billy is in the top few when he's next to JT. You could play Cannavaro next to Ian Pierce and you still wouldn't score.

Look what he did next to Materazzi??

And how dare you speak of Billy ahead of JT!! (I was a bit late clocking that one)

I do actually believe Billy G is the best of the lot (including JT) although we are talking marginal differences here. Cannavaro, JT, Billy, Nesta and Titus Bramble - very little between any of them and it is easy to argue the case for any of them.

Bramble really is a dark horse. Surprised we haven't been linked with him this summer.

Oh, i see, its because the Roberto Carlos rumour has taken this years joke quota.
