  1. It's the naughty step for you my boy.
  2. Really good night for Frank. A potentially tricky game and at half-time I feared the worst but we came out second-half with real purpose and got what we deserved. We showed good fight, spirt and resolve, and we held our nerve. Crucially, we looked quite solid. He got all the big decisions right. Tomori, Jorginho and Emerson all dropped, and rightly so. Drop points tonight and confidence becomes an issue. A very important win in my book.
  3. I refer everyone to my post above, which was written after the Palace game a month ago. Once again we see a midfield 2 of Kova and Kante and once again we look far more secure, far less open, and we play far more impressively. As I've said many times and I'll repeat again here, Jorginho is a good player, he appears to be a popular player, and he evidently has a good attitude, but he's overrated by many on here and our best XI doesn't include him.
  4. A good win and an important win. At half-time I feared the worst but we were good second half, fully deserved the win, and Frank takes a lot of credit. Confidence would have been a bit shaky at half-time. We played well and we showed a bit of steel. But for their keeper we would have had a few more. Kepa. Dodge. James. Good. Dave. We'll be seeing a lot more of him at left-back. Christensen. Not bad but he's not imposing or dominant enough and never quite takes the bull by the horns. Zouma. Excellent. He's been a big plus this season. Kovacic. What can I say? The man is class. So composed. I could talk about him all day. I won't because I know you've all got busy lives. Willian. Had a good game. I thought he had a very good game. Had a very good game. He's a very nice man. Kante. Good. I reckon this boy'll go far. Tammy. I like him. I like him a lot. Mason. Someone said at half-time he's no better than Piazon. Somebody on this thread. Who was that? Was that you? Come on put your hand up. Pulisic. Good player, good attitude, lacks a little bit of explosiveness, but I like him. I like him a lot. The manager. 10 out of 10 for me. Made the hard decisions and got them all right. Dropped Emerson, rightly so. Dropped Jorginho, rightly so. Dropped Tomori, rightly so. People may not want to hear it but as I said a few weeks ago, our best XI doesn't include Jorginho. He's good but he's vastly overrated on here. As against Palace, we were much more secure with a midfield 2 of Kova and Kante. It was a really good performance tonight. Top job.
  5. His game is improving all the time. He looks a player.
  6. Has a very unfortunate habit of standing completely still when the ball goes in his net. Having a wretched season in my opinion.

I keep saying it. He's world class. Rarely have I enjoyed watching a player so much.
  8. We can't keep a clean sheet. We can't defend crosses. We have a keeper who can't come and claim a cross. We have a keeper who remains rooted to the spot every time the opposition score. He just stands and stares as the goals go in. Bring on Hudson-Odoi. We need something different.
  9. West Ham scored because of a Tomori error. Tomori let a drop kick from the keeper bounce and that led to all sorts of problems. Antonio was up against him all game for those drop kicks, and Tomori hardly won a header against him. Antonio was backing into him and taking control of the situation. Tomori is a good prospect but there's definitely weaknesses there other teams can exploit, and he doesn't look too comfortable on the ball. He needs a few games out in my opinion. Rudiger can't come back quick enough.
  10. Testing time for Frank. Lost our last two in the league, and Aton Villa next, which will be hard. Then there was the lucky draw at Valencia in midweek, in which we were incredibly naive. Set-pieces remain a massive problem, which is unforgivable this far into the season. Players are starting to lose form, Willian for instance, Jorginho hasn't been great recently, Tomori's form has dipped, as has Mount's. This is where the real work starts for Frank. A win would be very welcome indeed.
  11. It's not just Valencia, we concede way too many, heck we nearly conceded 2 against Ajax while they had 9 men, and lest we forget, they scored 4 in that game, and we were at home. If Frank wants to be successful he needs to learn the balance between defence and attack. But for a horrendous miss on Wednesday, we'd be all-but-out of the CL. Frank's a very lucky boy indeed. Our performance once they equalised in the 82nd minute defied belief. Chasing a goal as if our lives depended on it was inexplicable, and that's being kind. Valencia score a winner, as they should have, and our season starts to look a lot different. We're out of the LC, our winning streak in the league came to an end last weekend, a defeat on Wednesday would have been a real sickener and dampened a lot of the euphoria of this season and dented our confidence. It was kamikaze stuff and there was no need for it. Hopefully that gave Frank a real wake up call. Nobody should be letting the result kid themselves.

Do you want a box of tissues?

It's not just his quality, it's his work-rate, a real team player, no fuss, no drama, just gets on with it. He can tackle, he can pass, he can press, he has skill in abundance, amazing touch, he can glide past players, he's creative but also dogged, you can give him the ball in any situation, he always wants it, and he has a cool temperament. Not sure I've seen a better midfielder in the Prem this year. In fact I am sure. I haven't.

Needs to sort that celebration out, otherwise he'll be shown the door.
  16. Sometimes you just have to think outside of the box Loz.
  17. He could have tried to, you know, stop it going in.

    This.
  19. That second goal is unforgiveable. He dropped his arms, thinking it was going over. What the f**k was he thinking? A terrible terrible error. Not good on the first goal either. Yes he made saves but that's what a keeper's paid to do. You want your keeper to make saves, that's why you play them. Edit: Top keepers don't let in soft goals. This guy does it regularly.
  20. If we concede in the last few minutes, we're out of the CL. A draw was all we needed. We got away with one. Very very lucky indeed. Committing bodies forward was suicidal. We're way too open. No solidity at all. Frank has a lot to learn. Dave was overlapping Reece in the 96th minute, running to the byline. Exciting attacking football is one thing, but this is poor management from Frank. We have to be more pragmatic. 15 chances conceded in that second half. We have absolutely no idea how to manage a game. Against City, we were the better team , playing great football, a goal up, taking the game to them, but we're soft, we're easy to score against, they run up the other end and score two, no bother at all. We really need to sort it out. A crucial game like tonight, we need to see out the last few minutes, we couldn't have been more open if we tried, and the worrying thing, Frank doesn't know how to change it. We're a third into the season now. It's time to learn our lessons, and there's been lots of them.
  21. Lampard's had him for 4 months. If the next 4 months are similar Lampard will be looking to strengthen. That's a fact me ol hearties.

Ladies and gentlemen, the video you've all been waiting for. His best bits from this season. This is what a proper midfielder looks like. Take a bow Mateo. You are definitely my kind of player. As the title says, world class.
  23. I also fear them in the top 4 race this season. Next season they'll do better than this season, but he won't win the PL, mainly because Klopp is too good. Third season it will all explode and it will be beautiful to see. Jose only knows one way to achieve success. His methods are too intense and antagonistic to have a long shelf life. He'll start to unravel and he'll start falling out with everybody around him. He has to cause chaos, that is his modus operandi. If he tries to adopt a new approach, he won't be successful, so he will revert to type, just as he did at Chelsea second time round. Started off all happy, playing good football, but the latter half of our title-winning season we stopped playing football, gave up possession, and relied wholly on Hazard. It was wretched to watch, and the following season it got really ugly, and as we plummeted, he literally had no idea how to stop the rot, and he completely lost the respect of the players. Interestingly, and tellingly, he made exactly the same mistakes at Utd. He couldn't adapt, he couldn't learn. He did exactly the same, which proves a lot. The moment he starts blaming the board, rather than himself, he's done for at Tottenham, because Levy won't stand for it. They'll possibly win a cup or two in his two and a half seasons at Tottenham, but they won't the league. He's a far worse manager than he once was, because he's lost his lustre, and his mystique, and he doesn't really get the modern player. He's lost his aura of invincibility, which counts for a lot, much like in boxing. He's been sacked 3 times by PL clubs. 3 times. It's a lot. He's becoming a journeyman, a gun for hire. The more he loses the respect of his players, the more he fails to relive past glories, the more he gets riled, and it all flares up. It's 10 years since he won the CL, he's only won 2 league titles since then, at Utd he failed for the first time to win the league in his second season at a club. He's declining and declining and declining. Madrid fans were happy to see the back of him, as were Chelsea fans, as were Utd fans. There were no real tears. I can't wait for it all to explode at Tottenham, and I promise you it will.
  24. There are right-to-light issues which severely restrict our ability to build very high, which is partly why the proposed development involved lowering the pitch below ground level. There is also the site's footprint, which is very small, less than 13 acres I believe. Basically a wall/kop will never happen.
