Yeah, funny that happened after Brighton gave us Buonanotte on a straight loan...

Welcome to Chelsea Ben Chilwell
- Julio Enciso
Miraculously passed his medical now- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
Aaaah now the buonanotte deal makes sense, take a chance on the guy with the poppadom knees and we'll give you Buonanotte to sweeten the deal- Welcome to Chelsea Ben Chilwell
If there's a tiff you can almost guarantee who's gonna be involved 😂. But yeah, hope a move happens for him.- Welcome to Chelsea Ben Chilwell
- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
I'm not here to be the owners/SDs keepers, I was just pointing out we aren't going bankrupt any time soon.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
I'm not too sure on sanctions/numbers, I was listening to a podcast that had Matt Law on earlier in the week and he just gave a little breakdown on why we needed to get rid of a couple of players like Nkunku/Jackson as for some reason the non conference league 'team A' players didn't count towards our budget.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
But that's not 'financial issues' it's abiding by some sh*tty made up rules uefa have implemented. Financial issues imply that we are in some sort of trouble with possibly bankruptcy, which obviously isn't the case.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
I'm not gonna turn this thread into yet another owner/SD chat because most of these do and it becomes annoying. Either way, I'm gutted we missed out on Simons, but any talk of financial problems just isn't true.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
This is due to the uefa sanctions I believe. Under PSR we're in no danger whatsoever but under the uefa sanctions we have we needed to sell a certain amount and have enough wage space to be able to register our new players this season. Sales of players that weren't in our 'A team' (ie players we had loaned out) in the conference league last season didn't count towards the uefa squad budget, so the sales of Veiga, Carney, Petrovic, Ugochukwu etc made no difference under the UEFA rules. So it's not so much us not being financially secure, it's to abide by uefa's arbitrary rules around player registration.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
Can't see this at all, we already had the deal done with the player who had, apparently, turned down a few other clubs because he wanted to come to us. All we had to do was match Spurs' offer and we'd have gotten him.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
Here are what I think the thought process behind this could be, narrowed it down to 3 possibilities: We're getting a loan AM because we've decided to use the money to strengthen elsewhere Jackson is staying so we don't have the money to buy anyone else We've lost our heads- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
This is what I don't understand, we had weeks to wrap the deal up, the bloke was close to odemwingie'ing so he obviously wanted to come here, so I have no idea how the deal fell apart.- Facundo Bounanotte - Loan agreed.
No offence to the guy, but I'd rather we didn't bother at all. Simons and Lopez to Buonanotte is just a joke.- Xavi Simons
What was the point in agreeing personal terms with Simons weeks ago if we weren't going to act on it is my point, you've gotta assume we feel like we need another player in that position so if we end up with nobody coming in it's poor planning.- Xavi Simons
If we end up with nobody it'll be idiotic planning which undoes some of the good work we've done in this window. I can only assume we're all in on Lopez or someone else to basically just let Spurs have a free run at Xavi.- Fermin Lopez
We seem to be a lot more keen on Lopez than Simons, I personally want Simons but that's more because I've not watched much of Lopez. If we didn't get either we'd look pretty stupid considering Simons has turned clubs away to wait for us.- Alejandro Garnacho
Well, nothing left to do but back him. I've always said there is a player in there, but whether he fulfils his potential is another question.- Champions League 25/26
Some tough games, away to Qarabag is an annoying one, hopefully we play them at a time where we can just send the kids like we did against Astana.- Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2025/26
I wanted Amorim before we got Maresca, but his inability to change his tactics is absolutely amateur, not being able to veer away from the 3 at the back shows his limitations. At one point he had Dalot at CB and Mount as a wing back.- Fermin Lopez
Poor guy- Fermin Lopez
Less than a week out so you either lower the price or Leipzig have a player that doesn't wanna be there. Be interesting to see what happens, I suppose the plus for us is Simons is a bonus signing rather than a necessity so we're not desperate enough to just give them what they want. I hope we can get him though.- Fermin Lopez
I personally think it's a price reduction tool for Simons but who knows. - Julio Enciso
