  1. Let it be said, in a sim of the Champions League final in Fifa, Torres just crossed to Drogba who headed it in. edit: sim finished, Chelsea won 2-nil. It was beautiful. Outshot 18-4 (13-1 in the first half) but that 1 shot was all they needed to score. Bayern almost tied it but Gomez doinked the header off the post. Drogba doubled the lead early in the second with another header, this time from Mata. The last minute was a flurry of shot-blocking as everybody to a man in a blue shirt put their body on the line to ensure Bayern's attempts weren't going to ruin Cech's cleansheet. Drogba was man of the match. One thing I noticed, almost 100%, Bayern advanced the ball down Bosingwa's side, lol.
  2. I'm a firm believer that Torres and Drogba will work against that tattered defense. It's written in the stars. In other news, I beat my friend at Fifa today 3-1 as Chelsea against Bayern with the following lineup: Cech Bossy - Cahill - Luiz - Cole Mikel - Lampard Torres - Mata - Malouda Drogba Drogba with 2, Malouda with 1. Drogba's first goal he intercepted a short pass on a Bayern free kick in their defensive third, brushed off 2 defenders, and finessed it just under the top right crossbar. Neuer had no chance. The second goal was much the same, with Drogba powering through defenders left and right at the edge of the area to cut the ball back to Malouda who sniped it bottom right. The last goal was in the 90th minute. Malouda made a nice little chip over Neuer to Drogba who headed it home.
  3. To be fair, Bayern put out their best squad today. We hardly put out our best squad on tuesday. And you can't compare their Cup game to a truly meaningless league game for Chelsea. What, Bayern is suddenly above the DFB Cup? They're too good for it? Beating their bitter rivals against whom they'd lost 4 in a row wasn't enough to get up for?!? Chelsea had lost 4 in a row to Liverpool, but they sure thought it was worth showing up even though they had a quote unquote bigger prize to play for too.
  4. This is getting weird for a football forum convo between opposing fans, lol.
  5. Lol. Watch a zillion Chelsea fans become converts if he's right. That's one way to grow your church.
  6. Yup. With the final happening in Germany, so much money is going to be put on Bayern Munich it'll create unrealistic odds. To get more money on Chelsea to even their books, the oddsmakers will have to make Chelsea bigger dogs than they are, as giving people better value on them is the only way people will put money on them. They're not as big of dogs as the odds would have people believe.
  7. I'm of the opinion that defense can be taught, so I believe he could add that to his repertoire if he wanted to. Offense, on the other hand, often takes a creative spark that happens in a split second. Much harder to teach.
  8. Surely RDM could convince Studge of the importance of the occasion and that being defensively responsible for one match won't kill him...surely? His pace could be vital on D. That being said, I'd really like to see Drogba starting with Torres on the wing. Not only does Torres have his nose for goal back but he's an under-rated playmaker, is good at hustling back, and has big game experience. It's time for RDM to go all in, especially with Bayern's weakened defence.
  9. From across the internets, more people are prematurely celebrating Champions League victory as all but inevitable for Bayern after defeating Koln 4-1. Lol. Isn't that like handing Chelsea the trophy after defeating QPR 6-1?
  10. 5 minutes?!?!? where the hell did 5 minutes come from?!? I was expecting 1
  11. i'm going to name my first born petr cech if chelsea hang on to win this :-p
  12. liverpool possession seems something like 70/30 the last 15 minutes...c'mon you blues!
  13. I think he meant keeping a clean sheet in the first leg.
  14. oh look at that, barca's already diving and clutching their shins
  15. This is why Torres can't score...Malouda, womp womp edit: lol, and then he gets one for himself
  16. Lol, that wasn't a goal but well done! We'll take it.
