Rafa rant at the fans
Yes, and that's all you have to say.."get out." Is that how you handle problems and issues? Telling someone to 'get out?" Yes, it is partly your fault because you're being stupid about this whole thing. At least get behind the bloody team and ignore Benitez if you don't like him. Is DM coming back in the future? Not likely. Will there be a new manager in this summer? Yes. Are we guarranteed a Champions League spot at the moment? No..we have a lot of hard work ahead of us with 10 or so match's to go.. Why do you (or we) need to put the players under more pressure than they already are? Don't get people like you...never have. Team comes first. everything else second.

Rafa rant at the fans
The abuse and banners against Benitez does the team no good whatsoever..they are already under so much pressure as it is to finish in the top 4. Bizzare "support" I must say.... And very vindictive.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
A bit hard for any manager when the player isn't 100% fit and is struggling with the knee problems of late. He will always play his fittest players and not risk Terry re-injurying himself. It's the reporters opinion that he risks igniting a feud with Terry. It ain't fact.

He doesn't have the best of relationships with The Sun from what I can gather though...and it goes back to his liverpool days

Agreed...Ba should have come on a lot earlier.

Not the best way to win over the fans, Rafa.
Don't think that's what he said in the interview....he was asked about the big changes and Lampard's contract situation and he just explained changes do happen. He didn't suggest chelsea fans needed to stop living in the past etc.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
Don't quite understand why Benitez is being singled out for 2 errors by one of the best/most consistent defenders we have had. You have to credit Swansea for defending as well as they did. We should have had a goal and a penalty..and this could very well have finished 2-2. Chin up, it's not over yet. 90 more minutes to play and I think we can turn this around away from home.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
Not sure how long the Rafa bashing will carry on for but it's good to see some sane heads these days and less booing..the important thing is we are winning, we are scoring and playing good football...

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
What's important, at the end of the day is, he is scoring, we are winning and that's all I care about. We want trophies, and we need to get behind the players, regardless if you don't rate Torres or not.

Chelsea fans the worst fans in the world
Doubt it. They are too busy worrying if they are going to get relegated or not this season and if they actually have any money to spend on a 2nd striker.

Get Luiz out of the back four!
I think the idea of trying Luiz in center mid was well worth a go. Given Ramirez needs a break and Lampard is only just coming back, it seemed like something well worth trying against a weaker team. Don't quite know what will happen if we played a stronger side who may end up bypassing Luiz and negating him all together but give credit where it's due. On another note, we are back to winning ways. We are scoring. We are conceding less and playing with a lot more confidence. The sooner we win this club cup and get back home and back to winning premier league match's, the better.

AVB Sacked!
I was at the Bolton match at home last weekend and what I saw in comparison to Chelsea's first match at the start of the season was a complete and utter lack of tactical awarness, players unable to string together a series of passes comfortably to open up the opposition and both defensive and offensive naiveity. For a team, that has been managed and coached by a manager for 8 months, to be that tactically inept, was a bit shocking. Though I have been watching other Chelsea home and away match's on the telly, I really do not think AVB was able to either get his ideas and tactics clearly explained to the players on the training ground and in the dressing room...or the players just didn't follow/didnt want to follow what they were being told to do. When sides like WBA make you look a poor side, there is something to be said. Granted, Bolton were sh*te and it was a matter of time before Chelsea did eventually score, courtesy of Luiz, but Chelsea made Bolton look a better side than they were for 45 minutes. And when you have a manager who is left hanging the way AVB essentially was by the club, there is something to be said. I am not saying he was the right man for the job (I actually thought he was a smart, but expensive choice) and he may have succeeded if he was able to make wholesale changes last summer and to bring in 7-8 new players of his picking and to off load some players who needed to move on...we just will never ever know. But sacking him at this point in the season, and then electing to go with De Matteo, who was relegated as a managed despite being a likeable person seems a bizzare decision. With an important CL match against Napoli coming, and the FA Cup match against Birmingham tommorow, I wonder if the board are now expecting a huge weight to be lifted off the shoulders of the players and the team under De Matteo to finish 4th, win the FA Cup and beat Napoli to progress to the next round of the CL. Some bizzare decisions, really. And as a liverpool supporter, I can't help but say bringing in Benitez would not be suitable for a club like Chelsea nor for the sort of players you have anyways. If anything, you would have had a repeat of the Scolari situation more than anything, given Rafa isn't the sort of person who has the personality amongst the players as Jose did. I just think some long term planning and common sense is seriously missing at board room level and with the owner.. Chelsea, despite the ageing of certain senior players do not have a bad team or squad. In fact, I would argue Chelsea have a good team and a good squad. They just can't control what goes on in the dressing room and senior players having as much influence on the club as they do.
