  1. Actually he hasn't had to change much defensively. We were very solid under Roy Hodgson. The main difference is he likes to play football on the ground with a lot of emphasis on short passing. Pre-season has been good - he's used it as more of an experimentation process than others, but the players have been gaining fitness still and the results have been good (Not that they matter in pre-season) so it's looking good. Seems to prefer 4-3-3. But he has experimented with 4-4-2 before. I know as a Chelsea fan you'll want this guy playing, and I'd love to see him play regularly as well. We'll see what happens. For the record, and I'm sure as Chelsea fans you're aware of this too, Clarke has really impressed us all. He's a really cunning coach I have to say. The success of our transfers however remains largely due to Dan Ashworth our technical director. Kudos to him.
  2. Hey people baggies fan in peace. Everyone here at the club is really thankful for this loan signing! It's been heavily suggested that one of our strikers may be on his way out. For the record, Odemwingie is probably going to feature on the wing if he starts, not as a centre forward. So our main strikers are really: Long, Fortuné, Rosenberg (Just been signed) and, with Lukaku, that makes four of them. The rest of our strikers are either not at the right level yet or are going to be moved on anyway. It's really between Long and Fortuné. The latter is very good at holding the ball up but has no end product whereas the former, Long, had a great start and then got ruined by an injury near Christmas a la Hutton from Villa. So it's hard to know who's leaving. But anyway, it's a great loan move for us and we're excited :D
  3. Hi guys, WBA fan in peace. Looks like Clarke is destined for our managerial position; personally, I'm quite happy with the appointment. As a well respected coach, Clarke will fit into our setup very well seeing as our technical director Dan Ashworth handles all of the transfers and player contracts. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this appointment. As Chelsea fans you probably have more of an idea than we do on his input. I know Mourinho rated him highly but there isn't much else for us to go by! Thanks!
  4. Yeah I can't understand it. He ruined it for Brana as well to be honest - the guy look distraught when the first thing Jeff told him was that he'd be missing the final. That's not the right moment or time to break that to a football player.
  5. Once again Jeff Shreeves giving stupid questions at the start of an interview. This time with RDM..
  6. Starting to look more lively. Definitely had better chances lately.
  7. Agreed. It's pretty immature really. Just be happy we're winning at the moment.
  8. Stoke are notorious for holding players during corner kicks. Not surprised by that event one bit.
  9. Interesting selection. Not sure what to make of it yet. We'll see! :)
