  1. Our mädels are getting ready to paint Munich RED !
  2. Anytime mate. We want different teams to win but I'm English and proud of it and like to help my fellow countymen where I can. As for the Chinese tower well I actually worked there collecting glasses back in 86 ! It is a fantastic biergarten but what their arrangements are for showing the game I don't know.
  3. I avoid the Irish pubs like the plague (expensive and crap beer and full of the sort of annoying know alls that I left the country to get away from). Paulaner is better than average. The myth of 1860 being the "people of Munich's club" was debunked long ago and the Theresienwiese PV is sold out. Other than that it's mostly reasonable info. If I was a Chelsea fan I'd head for the biergardens and drink decent beer in a good atmosphere rather than a chrome and plastic Irish bar full of old bottles and fake signs to Tipperary.
  4. That's hardly fair. I'm trying to look at everything positively from our side as you are from yours. Nothing wrong with that, we want different teams to win. Surely it's all part of the banter. I haven't come on here insulting people left right and centre after all but of course I'm looking at things from a Bayern perspective.
  5. Anything selling Paulaner is generally good, after Augustiner it's the best beer in town.
  6. No alcohol in or around the ground. Almost nothing in the way of pubs etc anywhere near the stadium. You will have to get the U-Bahn in the direction of the city and get off somewhere and find a pub/restaurant.
  7. Obviously they will be fit or he wouldn't play them but training doesn't make up for match practice, it just isn't the same. I'm not saying that 4 weeks out will definately make much difference but it generally takes players two or three games to recover their sharpness.
  8. We never doubted that they will both play from the start, not surprised in the slightest. The fact that they are not match fit could favour us though.
  9. The story comes from English football writer Ian Winrow (Daily Star) apparently.
  10. He's injured according to tz and will miss the game. Translation : "Bad news for Chelsea. Malouda to miss Final".
  11. A forty odd goal a season oaf is fine by me !
  12. Is it true that Malouda is out injured ? TZ are saying so.
  13. If they banned drinking on German football coaches there would be a revolution !
  14. It's the Löwenbräukeller on Stiglmeier platz. www.loewenbraeukeller.com/ a massive beerhall and beergarden and the main boozer of one of Munich's 6 big breweries. For those interested in history this place has that too. When Hitler tried to seize power in Munich in 1923 the Löwenbräukeller was the meeting point for Röhm's SA Stormtroopers before they marched to Marienplatz to meet Hitler's group coming the other way. Edit : The link doesn't work. Just google "Loewenbraeukeller " .
  15. I watched it over here on Sky Germany. It was actually more like the 2001 Bundesliga season where Bayern's equaliser in Hamburg in the 5th minute of injury time secured the title when Schalke were already celebrating winning it. But yes seeing Man Utd fall flat on their face always makes Bayern fans happy. Believe me you never want to lose like we did in 1999, even now all these years later I have never watched it again, whenever it's on tv I turn over. We've knocked the b#stards out twice since then though !
  16. Munich Polizei press conference today. The Police have stated that they are ready for the mass influx of fans for the game. "We are expecting at least 25,000 fans from the UK" said Polizei President Robert Kopp (brilliant name !), "of these we are sure the majority will be well behaved and are expecting only about 150 hard core troublemakers". English police have informed their German counterparts that 80 Chelsea fans have been given travel bans for the next week. "We know that there will be some Chelsea supporters at the two main PV events but are not expecting problems, we will keep a very close eye on both sets of supporters". The police will also be present at the Chelsea fans meet up point on Odeonsplatz. They also have a list of known German troublemakers. No beer in glass bottles will be sold in the inner city and only alcohol free beer in the arena. The police are using so-called "Information officers" to liaise with English fans and British police (in uniform) will be present in Munich. The police say they want both teams fans to have a good time in Munich but they will come down heavily on anybody causing trouble. Because of the huge amount of fans in the city the police are advising setting off for the game up to 3 hours before kick off.
  17. Personally it doesn't really start to get to me until about a day before. Two years ago I was cool as a cucumber all week before we played Inter, by the Friday I was nervous and the Saturday even more so. I needed several beers and a smoke of something herbal before I could calm myself down enough to watch it. To make it worse we bloody lost which of course makes you even more nervous the next time.
  18. About 50 euros in Hildesheim.........................................................allegedly.
  19. They will both play. We've heard it so many times before, a couple of years ago Rooney was apparently on life support then suddenly there he is in the starting eleven. It's all gamesmanship, Di Matteo knows they will play, whether they are match fit is another point entirely, we have the same problem with van Buyten.
  20. I think that both defences are very suspect, it could be a game with both sides having plenty of scoring chances.
  21. We're thinking of calling up Kaiser Franz for the defence. One thing is certain, it will be a very different Bayern to the team that turned up and rolled over for BVB yesterday. The players know they let down the club, the fans and themselves with their dreadful lacklustre, unmotivated, disinterested performance yesterday. They know they have to put that right on Saturday.
  22. No it's bollocks, both sides have a chance next week but do you really believe such crap ?
