Very good mate, youre a funny guy. But what i mean is more so than usual. There's no analysis of his performance in any way shape of form apart from his hair not inspiring a goal.

He gets slated in the tabloids every week. The Daily Mail amaze me there is a whole article on Nando's hair practically and they add abit about him not scoring. Such sh*t journalism.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Actually thought he didn't look too bad today! Hazard and Oscar had worst games i would honestly say. Hassled their defenders at times. Worked really hard. Helped create the room for Mata in the hole. What is missing is him being a predator in and around the penalty area. He smashed Vermaelen for pace and then his touch just completely evaded him. It's mad for someone to be able to show great skill and acceleration at one point and then the next his touch resembles sunday league. Same with the shot in the first half got in the right position and then that strikers instinct just deserted him. We won none the less we should be happy with that as it was a huge game. Torres started and we won so critics remember that factor. Ba to start in mid week though as he is on massive form and has looked dangerous every game so far.Torres is a good player short of a lot of confidence and after all thats happened he's not gonna get it back with the way the crowd is at stamford bridge at the moment. I bet if he goes in the summer he will scores plenty elsewhere. Come on then, who is going to bite at me?

I feel like he needs a moment where he comes off the bench and scores a winner or something. Maybe saturday?

Another poor show last night tbh! I can't understand why he drifts out wide so much.... he's a centre forward what is he doing?! His confidence is clearly rock bottom I don't see anyway he can come back from this!

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
He's not been what we want so far, but to say hes been crap for 2 years every time he's played is just unfair. Drogba was hardly everyone's cup of tea in his first two years at the club then he went on to be such a maverick. Torres may still become a strong player for us not to the level Didier was but still improve.

Its true though Moses misses an open goal and yet Torres gets it in the neck?! Corinthians game where he should of put that one away, sure.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
So make a thread regarding Buck, Roman, Gourlay and whoever else and lets get it to 100+ about how they should be sacked for making the stupid decision of having Torres as practically our only striker! There is so much more blame to be handed out than just to this guy!

aha! so youre admitting he wasnt crap in all of the games this season? To be fair i could name more but don't want the level of opposition business

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread

I think im gonna need it when I go to bed after this. Obviously things aren't going as well for nando as we would have hoped but everyone on here is too quick to use him as a scapegoat is my only point especially in his circumstances. The club was stupid in not investing in another forward. None of them are football experts or whatever and Nando has started and played more or less 90 minutes in every game. Look at Van Persie and Aguero they are two of the best and with playing the same amount of games as us pretty much they have benefited over rotating their strikers. I'm not going to talk technical aspects of the game like where his positioning should be and bla bla. He obviously knows what he is doing because he scored sh*t loads of goals at liverpool so its not like we spent money on someone who has no clue. Right now it is not working. I can see that but we have now hopefully another forward in so he will get a run of games in and hopefully Torres can benefit and find his magic touch again. He has scored 13/14 goals this season in all comps to be fair (please dont talk about the opposition) Jeeeeez

It's not his fault the price, or whatever. i'm saying is he has played his part down the line not as much as we'd hoped for but that is life. Blame the owners for that sh*t man, not the player its not as if hes not trying or sulking constantly. He won't sulk at Ba's emergence he knows he needs someone to come in and take some of the pressure off him!

Youre angry mate i can tell so don't be afraid to go outside and maybe even kick a lampost if you feel like it. He's started more games than anyone in our squad and up until this week he's been practically our only centre forward thats. He's f**ked he needs a rest and getting Ba in will give him that chance and also take some of the flack off him.

Everybody jumps down Nando's neck when we lose/or don't win. I'm not saying he played well today and i am not going to say he's setting the league alive so far. But I don't think we can so easily say "chelsea didnt win cause of torres lets get on the forum and have a pop at him" rather than account any of the other 10 on the pitch. In the whole final third we were poor today thats not all down to him.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Honestly its so so boring. all the "my nan, cat, baby could do better" Just use this forum to actually talk productively about the players. If u wanna rant then go outside find a lampost and tell it how you feel about him.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Not at all. He will still play his part til the end of the season. Just as he did in a bit part role last season with the goal at the nou camp and winning the corner that created Drogba's goal in Munich. Far far too many fans on here jump down his throat when the team plays poorly. It's boring as hell why dont we just create another 10 threads for each player tonight and rant at them as the rest of them were sh*te tonight and not for the first time.

Frustrating night again for Nando. I can't quite work out where its going wrong again for him. I will give him the benefit of the doubt over starting and playing pretty much every game this season. Thank God Ba looks to be joining otherwise we would be struggling. If he signs before the weekend then start him against southampton give Nando some time to recharge his batteries a bit. Then hopefully he'll physically and mentally be ready to come back in and help us where we need him.

The players seem to really like Benitez.
I know it was a bad result but i don't agree that a 0-0 draw can be considered a disgraceful result no matter the circumstances. I agree that Fulham were in a poor run of form and we should have gone out there to punish a team conceding plenty. However I feel that Rafa had come in and was building solidity from the back as we'd been conceding far too many goals ourselves. So I feel that you can forgive that we didnt set up more attacking to get them. I wasnt at that game so i can't comment further on how they played or whatever. Regarding his tactical prowess we know its not exactly the same as how Robbie was utilising the team. But i'm not sure if Robbie was doing enough to strike the balance between this open attacking style and a solid defensive unit. Now i'm not sure Rafa could do that either. But he has adapted the way the team is playing to hopefully get us climbing up the table. There are visible changes that can be seen like Luiz's success in midfield, Torres back scoring, and keeping the team fresh/fit especially with our far east trip. Thats all i wanna see now after we've lost out on 3 trophies! I'm not fussed on style!

What did you think of the performance against West Brom then? Ignoring that theyre having a good season, was that a 'bread and butter' fixture for you? And after the game was the performance disgraceful if we view West Brom as a lesser opponent? I agree about the full back swap couldn't see it with Benitez. But these are minor glitches that Robbie also had such as why he neglected to select Marin once he became available? Lack of rotation in the squad etc. It's good that youre supporting the players even if you dislike them as you say and i guess that no one really is going to be chanting Rafa's name despite the results but i'm just wondering if youre one of these at the games with the banners about Rafa etc. I mentioned that we've showed our anger about the appointment to Roman and the Board but now I feel its just time for the team and the fans to all be on the same page and all supporting the club as one especially at the Bridge and away. If you get where i'm coming from. Obviously on these forums anyone can say what they like about anything thats why they are here.

Haha! That is myself playing for my University team I had better change it hadn't I!?

I can't understand how you deem that performance disgraceful, yes it was poor but disgraceful? Compare that to Juve where we went only needing a point and came home with a lesson and all but dumped out of the champions league. Thanks for looking up my Shed End history but i've followed the forum for a while just viewing the discussion but only today did I decide to get involved. I take on board what you're saying no loss is acceptable but I feel that if we'd have played exactly the same and lost under Robbie then there would be little aggro like there is because now Rafa is our boss. I know we're all frustrated about his appointment but I feel we've shown our discontent towards it and now we just need to push on and support the players and our manager until the end of the season! That's why I feel your 'disgraceful performance' comment is a little over the top!
