Cheers. IF we do win (BIG IF) I wouldn't want to be posting; would seem like gloating.I feel confident-ish. That feeling will last until kick off...

Chelsea v Spurs (PL) 08/05/2013 KO 19:45
I post during some Chels games. However, I wont post if we win tonight as that would be a bit like trolling, which I don't want to do. I may not post if we lose, either; i'll be in a cobb so won't have much to say... :-) I hope that there's no sh*t tonight (on the pitch or outside the ground). May Tottenham wi.....sorry, May the best team win. 1882 - c'mon lads - think of the tradition, think of the honour.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Yep, fair points (above). I think I'm just in denial that it'll be Moyes: basically, wots he done?!

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I normally agree with your posts BUT the same 'experts' today are the ones who, yesterday, missed this story brewing.Just a word of caution...

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I agree - the 'european experience' criteria, taken at face value, would place Moyes at a disadvantage. I hope that JM is bridge-bound but my head says it could be Utd. Scary prospect - JM and Utd would be a very effective combination. I hope I'm wrong.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Today's news was a bolt from the blue - media, etc are playing catch up as they were as surprised as us. Given that, how likely is it that anyone really knows what's going on? (i.e. with saying who next manager will be)

Cheers Mike. Prob won't be enjoyable - way too tense. Will today's news unsettle the team? (clutching at straws!)

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Fook mi. Didn't see that coming... The Chelsea situation is now wide open, imo. I'd be surprised if United gave a job as huge as Utd to a manager (Moyes) who has made a career from doing well with poor resources, with little to show for it.

Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
Partly because I'm a fan of this site and wouldn't want yous chaps let down; Partly because the combination of JM and Man U would be fearsome; I can't see JM coming into Chels and winning the league straight off. If he does come, there'll need to be some realism from Chels fans, to avoid expecting too much immediately, imo.

I couldn't ask you to do that mate. :-) The time until this morning's press conference is going to crawl by...

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
If it helps, Radio 5 are reporting that bookies have taken some big single bets on Moyes, in last day or so but before last night's story. Could be him. Hope so, sincerely.

Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
Radio 5 saying that large amounts have been bet on Moyes going to Man U. Could be insiders, etc trying to benefit from advanced info re. SAF. I hope that JM does come to yous.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Yep. Moyes keeps Everton in the top third of the table, generally, but what's he done? (as you say). The gulf between Everton and Man U is massive. The idea of Utd bringing in an understudy to SAF is being talked about a lot. I can't picture a manager who is his own man doing this, unless the deputy is from within Utd (Neville?).

It's here, after all the build up: Der Tag... Not going to think about it after this post - the day will drag by otherwise. 15 hours and it'll be done and dusted...

Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
Just heard this on BBC Radio 5: '...there's increasing speculation that Sir Alex Ferguson...(to announce retirement)'. BBC hedging its bets - 'speculation' is vague, but they are also going with story. The poss JM angle aside, this could be a landmark week.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
It is. If the SAF story is true (and that's a big if) it would cap everything.

Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
Red Cafe making interesting reading. A mixture of distress at possibility of losing SAF, quite a lot of opposition to Moyes as a replacement and some speculation that United are going to 'gazump' Chelsea for JM. One poster on Red Cafe saying that bookies have stopped taking bets on SAF retiring. At mo, everything is speculation.

S*** - just how common is this perception?! :-)
-
Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
The common wisdom about SAF's replacement is that it'll have to be a major managerial talent or someone like Moyes who has a lower profile but is thought of well. JM would fit the first category. I wonder whether he'd think that following on from SAF is too high risk (i.e. a hard act to follow and, given that the Man U fans throw a wobbly over one loss, how patient would they be with a new face?). Interesting, if true.

Alex Ferguson considering retiring before end of week?
IF this is true, is there a possibility that JM's destination might be Old Trafford? (serious question - not posed to troll)

Chelsea v Spurs (PL) 08/05/2013 KO 19:45
So here's an end, or close to it; Two teams will bend, their strength and wit; To measure a season's worth, success shaped of soil and earth; And when it's done, let there be no ill-will; (The game will have been won, with strength and skill); After, lest there be any grousers, think on this: it could be worse - we could all be Scousers! (err, I'll get me coat......) May the best team (we may differ here) win.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
This is brilliant. It's also a warning that we must NEVER let the Americans near our game. Ever...

I think if i didn't follow Spurs, I'd have a more realistic or clear-headed view of the Bale situation. I don't think he'll go - we've made enough progress this season for him to see potential for us, next season. If we don't push on next season, that makes it more likely that he'll leave, imo. That said, my heart says 'why would anyone want to leave us?!' :-)Defo a big game.
