Iain McGarry (soz if mis-spelled) was on the Monday Night Club on Radio 5, last night. He's a sound football journalist, imo. He said JM is coming to CFC and one of his conditions for coming is that Torres be sold.

Bale will not leave, at least not next season. Thfc have had a good year (even after Sunday) and there's a sense of progress and potential about the team. As some here have mentioned, Bale is first among equals at Spurs, with all that that means. He has a strong personal relationship with AVB and that, his freedom on the pitch, and the thought of a v good season to come (and the new pay deal on offer) will keep him with us. There's also the fact that Spurs are sound, financially. I know that forty million plus is a serious amount of money, but we can afford to say no. Spurs need to keep Bale because we can't be a selling club and, at the same time, be ambitious. Bale will also attract others players to Spurs. The caveat to the above is that he could go after next season, if we don't build on this year.

Amazing spell, as you say. I was thinking that the spinners might be key today but Broad had other views! I hope he stays fit as he'll be vital for the Ashes; I mention fitness because the number of fixtures played these days is intense and the injury risk increased.

AVB was on Radio 5 (So Simple!) Live today - he said Chelsea will be 'the team to beat' next season. I agree. After what must have seemed a fraught year, things seem to be well placed for the summer and beyond for Chels. There'll be an unsettled feel about United and City, in August; Arsenal are getting better and it seems like they'll invest over the summer, but that will make next season a work in progress for them, again. I reckon that we can put up a good show next year, I hope...

Soz not needed. Heartbroken isn't the word - desolate would be more appropriate. Ah well, thank God for Cricket...:-)

Agreed. I am bitter but Mancini got sacked for finishing second (amongst other things) and Arsenal treat 4th place like a CL Final win...

That hadn't even crossed my mind, until now....would be a nightmare if that happened....a restless night awaits me!

My thoughts exactly. Barca-Freak is clearly British and he's calling Barca 'we'. We? Both Gazza (soz) - 1. His free kick in the 1991 FA Cup Semi against the Gooners. It wrecked Seaman's confidence for two seasons. Superb. 2. Euro '96 - he lobs Hendry (no slouch) and volleys in the second goal against Scotland. The man was awesome and, though his decline is almost a cliche, it's tragic.

Unless there's a major turn-around in form, Newcastle couldn't beat an egg at the moment. It pains me to admit it, but the Gooners are in good shape at the mo.

He's on the list, goes without saying...don't know whether he's more of one than Rio - impossible to say as they are both exceptionally well qualified...
