Posted May 13, 201312 yr So then, Our final game of the 2012/13 season. We can send out a message to Utd's new manager on Sunday and we can throw Celery at the outbound interim. Thanks for an 'interesting' year of footy and here's hoping next season will be a special one!
May 13, 201312 yr My birthday so I expect a win. Doubt they'll top what they gave me last year though!
May 13, 201312 yr Any cheeky signs for FSW? :) I wish we would put more effort in with our banners etc, the bed sheet and marker scrawl is not a good look.
May 13, 201312 yr My birthday so I expect a win. Doubt they'll top what they gave me last year though! My birthday aswell. Nice present last year.
May 13, 201312 yr Everton fans mayhave a song or two aswell to add to the RAFA scenario Edited May 13, 201312 yr by Mike Carefree
May 13, 201312 yr Would be nice to finish the season with a win ensuring third place. I'll comment more after the final with predicted line ups etc but let's get the big one dealt with first.
May 13, 201312 yr Expecting a win assuming we have no serious injuries leading to the game, although Everton have played well when facing the big teams and awful when facing small teams so it could be tricky. Edited May 13, 201312 yr by Remodez
May 14, 201312 yr chances of getting thrown out of the bridge for throwing celery on the final day of the season..?
May 14, 201312 yr Some here may disagree, but I think we should select a decent team for this one. Finishing 3rd ensures that we don't have to qualify for the CL later on this year which saves us a fixture and potentially going out before it's even started! Especially since some of our lads will be involved in the Confederations Cup as well as this ridiculous end of season US tour and pre-season!
May 14, 201312 yr Some here may disagree, but I think we should select a decent team for this one. Why wouldn't we? I mean, it's the last (competitive) fixture of the season. Rest players in the post season friendlies if we must, but third place is definitely worth fighting for.
May 14, 201312 yr I didn't mean to imply that some on here would have us roll over, rather that since top 4 is secured, we may rest some of our bigger names which users on here may or may not agree with.
May 14, 201312 yr Think we need to win this to secure the third spot, be pretty annoying and portentially dangerous to play the CL qualification in August. We have more to play for than them, should win this.
May 14, 201312 yr I think we should play our strongest side, dont really want Arsenal fans to be given the opportunity to boast about finishing above us despite the fact that this is their worst side in the Wenger era and the fact that we spent the most money on transfers last summer.
May 15, 201312 yr I think we should play our strongest side, dont really want Arsenal fans to be given the opportunity to boast about finishing above us despite the fact that this is their worst side in the Wenger era and the fact that we spent the most money on transfers last summer. Think a lot depends on how we do in the final tomorrow. Win and we take confidence in to the Everton game and look to go out in style. Lose and we go with our heads dropped by losing another trophy this season and the players just itching to get away on their holidays.
May 15, 201312 yr Newcastle will be a great help....I see a draw for le arse there.... Not sure. Newcastle are safe, they have nothing to play for
May 16, 201312 yr Time to finish the job then. Beat Everton lads so you can have a more extended break!
May 16, 201312 yr We need a win against Everton. Third and direct entry to CL group stage is important. Our UEFA coefficient is going to be through the roof bound to be in the top seeds
May 16, 201312 yr Play a strong team and secure third. I'd play torres and ba together. Cech Azpi Ivan cahill cole Luiz Oscar Lamps Mata Torres Ba
